Default Too Much Wheel Spin???

Okay, so I have an 09 with the Sport Package in a 6MT. I have had a lot of sports cars, all in a MT, along with a 03 350z before this one. I also have 19" Bridgestone RE090s on the stock Rays 19".

It seems like in this Z i get wheel spin way too much. Even on a warm dry day at a stop light going straight... i will get some spin. I have about 70% tread left on the tires too. I dont lead foot at stoplights either. Even on a gentle engagement it will do it sometimes.

Does anyone else's Z have this? My 350z had no problems like this what so ever. I am going to get springs and spacers soon, then get another alignment, hopefully it will alieveate some of this.

Too much wheelspin is a pretty subjective thing. It's like a Z06 owner complaining of wheel spin when they stomp the throttle in 2nd gear. Yes, at some point you'll break traction. Perhaps the road surface you're on is dusting, gritty, etc. Perhaps your tires aren't truly warmed up. Perhaps you're launching at too high an RPM. The bottom line is you don't get wheel spin in the Z or any car if you use the 'right' amount of throttle for a given situation and road surface. I'd absolutely put money on the fact that springs, spacers, and an alignment aren't going to change a thing.

I don't experience those issue and must agree with the other posts above that spacers and springs are not goint to help any either. Perhaps it's the way you are engaging your clutch. Too many variables to really help without being there.

I knew id get flammed for this. thanks...

Anyway like i am not saying that its crazy wheel spin and doing burnouts every time i stop, its just enough to kick on VDC, I have engaged the clutch in normal driving the same as way as I used to in my previous cars, all RWD sports cars (Mustang Cobra, 350z, M3 e46) and never had the grip issues. And if its not an alignment issue i am going to assume that this is one of those annoying problems that i am going to have to learn to deal with.

Also, another thing that pisses me off with this car, is the shitty Bose stereo system and climate controls. The climate knobs and volume/tune knobs often do not respond in the direction i spin them. I will turn the volume up, and sometimes it will go down instead. This Bose system has to go...

I meant RE760s. I was probably thinking of the tire model on my old Z...

IMO Johnny, is seem you just don't like the car. I got the same year car, same stock tires, same wheels and I NEVER experience "too much wheel spin" unless I want to.

You started the thread with "too much wheel spin" then you use the phrase "i get wheel spin way too much", your statement says that even "gentle engagement" you get wheel spin, then you tried to fix it by saying "i am not saying that its crazy wheel spin" Well then what is it?

By saying that you drove so many other RWD cars and tell us that the 370 has such a bad grip and suggesting that by adding springs, spacers and alignment you think it will fix the problem, then is hard for me to believe you have that much experience on RWD. I will be sarcastic by telling you that I guess the Z has much power than you can handle compared to the others vehicles you drove then, sorry.

That's why you got flamed because your statement doesn't match. We are here to help you on any problem your car may have or to answer any question cause everyone here has different experience.

Now if you are been completely serious about this then is either the road where you are driving or your tires are more than 70% worn, or you are always driving with the VDC off (even that I turn it off and never had that issue either), or maybe your TLC is defective or your concept of been gentle is not the same as ours.
