yes full coverage. reason being is because they asked me " does it have a turbo?"... i said no.... and they said "well then its not considered a sports car to us... only went up a couple hundred..... THEN a months later i got a letter in the mail from them stating : "W have reviewed your policy with us and it seems you are a very safe driver and therefore we have lowered your rate 300 dollars, have a great day

im 23 now.......... and recently ( last fall) a deer hit the drivers side left front fender ... causing damage..... (i slowed down , to 15-20 mph... flashed my lights , yelled at it and it STILL ran AT my car and hit it) ..... and so after that.... my rate went up $100.......... still cheap, but again, i never have gotten a ticket, never gotten arrestted, no wrecks.... nothing

so right now..... i pay $977 a year... i expect it to drop with the safe driver discount this time next year

81.41 a month.

You only gave a small amount of info on what insurance companies use to calculate your rate.

Other information use is:
Whether or not you get collision and comprehensive coverage?
Your deductible?
Your maximum liability insurance coverage?
Insured location? City? Park on the street or garage?
Type of driving?
How much you drive?
Student/Married/Kids?
Do you own a home?
Is the car financed or not?
And last but not least what insurance company you go to. Progressive v All State have different levels of costumer service which effect the base rate.

With out the rest of the info you can't compare your rate to anyone else's. Your 5k rate could be normal. Or it could be $500.

42 , middle ground credit, no accident or tickets previous 10 years. Geico wanted $2400/YR full coverage with a $500 deductible. Told them to Stick it, Progressive $1450/YR $500 deductible. I'm ok with this.

Damn. California must be an expensive state to insure in. Here in Texas I just switched to Safeco (home and auto) I'm 48 with a clean record and decent credit and pay less than $1200 a year for 1k deductible full coverage on my Z and new BRZ. Recently switched from Travelers where they wanted $1800 a year. One pissed off email to my agent about my Travelers rates and he shopped around and saved me $600 a year on my auto and over $200 a year on my home owners ins.

Guess I will chime in on this one too. I am 44, married, homeowner, good credit, no tickets or accidents--really a "good" risk for the insurance company. My Z is insured with State Farm, along the other cars, house, etc. I have a $1,000 deductible and otherwise full coverage.

My six month premium for the Z, after about $170 in discounts, is $293, or less than $50 per month. The six month premium for my 2012 Altima last time was only 51 cents less than the Z.

2010 rouge don't ask wife wanted it.
2009 370z sports package total 155.00 a month which i think is to high

not related to my insurance. also thought using one's credit score to determine
your insurance rate was another insurance rip off. what does that have to do with it.

it's the law you have to have it anyway. high credit scores do not make you a better drive.

But in the insurance world, high credit scores do suggest you are more responsible than someone with really bad credit, in general, and thus a better risk to insure.

I have State Farm for car and home owners insurance. I pay $300.47 for 6 months for full coverage on my 05 Altima with $250 deductible on collision. It went up due to my wife having a minor accident that was her fault. I pay $299.61 for 6 months for full coverage on my 2010 Z with $100 deductible on collision. So far I am accident and ticket free, but the way I drive my Z I have been lucky so far for not getting any tickets (the radar detector helps). Also, I am an old guy, will be 66 in December.
