Just Venting

On twisty windy roads, most cruiser bikes (harley, yamaha, honda, whatever.. ) are considered rolling roadblocks. They can't corner worth a sh!t, and just slow you down. Something is amiss

Something is amiss if the recommended corner speed is 45 mph and they're doing 35 or 40mph.

I empathize with OP. One week within getting my Z I was minding my own business on the highway when out of nowhere some douche in a POS TOYOTA CAMRY cut me off really fast in front of me using the exit lane....I had the last laugh as he didn't realized there was a cop not too far behind us and the idiot got stopped right after cutting me off

I got a new one from my drive home from work on Monday. I am about half a mile away from my neighborhood and pull up to a stop sign given this is during the busy 4-5pm hour where traffic is heavy. Well There is an SUV coming from the right who will either brake hard and turn on the street I am on or keep going straight in the lane I need to get in. Well I roll forward a bit and second guess the distance of said SUV and decide since I hesitated that I will not risk pulling out in front of it and it actually does continue straight. Well apparently the guy in the Celica behind me goes ballistic that I am keeping him from getting home a whole extra minute of his day as I let the SUV pass and commences to squeezing his POS next to me and the ditch so he can turn right cuz its all clear in his direction. He is yelling and going crazy as he is pulling next to me to make the turn. I am laughing but also concerned that he does not side swipe me as he does this. I wish I hugged more to the right so he wouldn't of had any room to pull that manuever. I got home without incident but man some people need to chill the f@ck out!!!

Yeah, idk what they were doing. The section of road isn't even twisty at all, really. It's a huge sweeping S curve. Here's a link if you want to see it mesa dr and guadalupe rd 85233 - Google Maps

When I was younger my best friend's family had several Harleys. They get the loudest possible exhaust for safety reasons, not because they're trying to be cool. Louder the exhaust, more likely a car will notice you on the road.

No, makes me want to hit the d_bags more. Why is it okay for them to rape my ears when they decide to drive the death traps

This has been widely shown to have little-to-no evidence supporting it (save for anecdotal).

I've been riding choppers since I was 15, and I've been around them since I can remember. I remember my mom carrying me outside when I was about 2 yrs old to a crowd of about 50 Harleys and chops, and my dad and uncle saying good bye to us before they all left.

Trust me... Whether they admit it or not, they like to be loud. The whole "loud pipes save lives" thing is true to an extent, but anyone who says they have a loud exhaust ONLY to get noticed is a liar. Besides, I've had more people pull out in front of me or try to change lanes into me on my loud bike than I do on my "quiet" bike.

Default VW Tailgater

I had a similar situation one night around dark with a VW following close behind on a 2 lane highway, as soon as it went 4 lane I just fully accelerated in 5th gear at 65mph & I couldn't shake this guy until the top of 5th going into 6th I finally pulled away, I looked down at the speedo & I was going 140mph I thought why did & should I have to do this.

Yeah.. brilliant.

1 of you.. after people just showed themselves to be unsafe idiots.. would go for the reversal and cut them off and then downshift suddenly.. and risk wrecking your car and killing yourself. The other.. when a moron tailgates you.. you go 140mph.. and risk wrecking your car and killing yourself.

There are a lot of douchebag drivers on the road.. but how you react to them is equally important. Be mature and on the defensive side as drivers. Don't get into pissing contests with retard kids in crappy cars. We're in Z's.. we're already better than them.

And now you know.. and knowing is half the battle.

Interesting, to be honest, I don't see this often in here, GTA, Canada.

Maybe people here are just very lay back and don't really give a damn what car do you drive thus they don't give you sh!t.

There were couple of times where there were these stupid drivers tail-gating me like I thought I have back seat in my Z.... simply I'll just downshift without hitting the brake, so my car will slow-down all of a sudden and that idiot behind will sh!t his pants.

Of cause, I have my foot on the gas pedal so I'll get away before he can hit me...

I rarely do that... once in a blue moon maybe.
