Trade in
Just thought I would give everyone a chuckle...
i got an email from a local honda dealer, the one where I bought my previous Accord..the one i traded in for a Z. She asked me if I intended to trade in the Accord..and i wrote back saying i had already traded in in for a 370Z because I wanted a sports car. She wrote back asking if I wanted to trade the Z in for a Civic SI..( Give her credit for trying) I wrote back saying I would be interested if the Civic had more than 332 Z HP.. She said she would get back to me.:icon18:.Guess she is new.. (save you the trouble of looking it up..its 160..) |

I'm confused, you're talking about torque like our Z's have a lot of it. We don't.... Their HP:TQ ratio is closer than the Z's as well. Not that I like Si's but blind, uneducated hate is a little childish. |

I'm actually laughing aloud while reading this. Partly because I used to have a civic when I was a kid, and I started remembering when I got my generic short ram intake installed and bragged about the 4hp I gained  God, I'm ashamed to admit some of the things I modded on that car....
But no, we're not hating on the civic, it's just the idea of a salesperson trying to get us to trade a Z for a civic is hilarious. It's like trading your Koenigsegg CCXR for a Hondas odyssey. Why the hell would you? "hey, I know you have that McMillan 50 cal tactical rifle, how about I trade you this Daisy bb gun and $50?" Sent from my iPizzle using magic and new fangled science stuff. |

http://www.the370z.com/track-autocro...ack-times.html They're just kidding around by the way, lol. |
Well actually I once owned a Civic and it was a really nice car....never bothered anybody and got good gas mileage and gave a reasonable ride. It is really a good car for what is was meant to be but I just don't see it as a really quality sports car that is in the same league as a Z..
People say the Z is better than cars costing $100,000 and if someone thinks the civic is better than the Z or at least equal to it, they are saying Honda makes a car for $25,000 that is better than many costing $100,000... That's a hell of an accomplishment! |

Look to anybody who took my comments seriously, please see the Rolf puke guy rolling around afterword.
Secondly, it's a personal choice for me not to like civics just because as someone mentioned their image was ruined by too many boy racers guys who do not understand performance and do not run 11 second 1/4. Instead they make their cars sound horrible, look worse, and make them heavier = slower. Civic is a reliable car that can be fun with the right driver and the right know how of tuning. However, the idea of trading in a Z for one is laughable because you are virtually downgrading every category (stock for stock) except inetior/cargo room and ground clearance lol. |
Also, i'm a bit tired of hearing 1/4 mile time references for the Z...its not a drag race car. It belong on the curves/canyons just like 90% of all sports cars do.
End of rant  time for :driving: |
ohio built civics from my experience were not reliable at all... i had a brand new one 2006 i used as dd. was in for a week of warranty repairs within the first 1.5months (engine mount failure, front strut failure), then the car went in again for wheel bearing recall, then would not start when temps were 0F or below. i was like wtf. battery swap did not fix it either.
so anyway, i dont care either way. :icon17: |

The 7th Gen SI was rated@ 197 but was under rated. It really made somewhere between 210-215hp or ~ 180-185whp.
The current 8th Gen SI is rated @ 201 but it may or may not be as under rated. I'm sure it makes more torque but I preferred the last Gens 8200 rpm redline. The shifter / clutch operation is phenomenal and for 4 cyl in sounds good in the ^ RPMs. It's a pretty fun car to drive. The main reason not to get one isn't the HP but the FWD. If SI's power train was dropped in a RWD chassis weighing no more than ~2800lbs could have a lot of potential. Well then again that was basically already done with the S2K it's just too bad they're not made anymore due to the HP wars. |

I have nothing but love for Honda. My previous car (4 weeks ago) was a 2008 Civic SI. I loved that car and it was a very practical car to have as a daily driver. I'm sure I'll find my way back into a Honda after the Z is paid off.

Worse yet. STILL a honda...Lol |
Actually I have always bought Honda and Toyota..Civics. Preludes, Camreys, several Accords, a Supra and my wife has a 10 year old Accord with 150,000 miles on it..aside from the usual maintenance we never had a problem with any of them.
Once I find a car company that makes something that i like and doesnt give me any problems, I stick with it. but neither of those companies made a car with the history and reputation of the Z.. So now i am a Nissan buyer and so far so good. |
^^^ another happy customer.
