I think the warranty should be an option from the start. Maybe a bracketed system where you choose how much of a warranty you want. This would drop the sticker price for those who intend to mod their cars from the get go and would void the warranty anyways and make Nissan happy in getting more sales and fewer warranty disputes. In any case, if Nissan has their name stamped on the part, it should be covered. I've hit limp-mode once driving in heavy stop & go traffic on a hot day. Felt like the car was sick. Scared the crap out of me, especially since I didn't know this issue existed until doing some research afterwards. I had an RX-8 before this so I had to change my shifting habits bit. I was use to living in the high rpm range on the RX-8. No problems since.
