Haven't had any issues with my Z, guess I got a good one **knocks on wood**. I would say I give it spirited starts but I far from baby it. I am still on the original clutch but about to put the 6th set of tires on the rear, still on the 3rd set up front. I would say I really only beat on it probably 2 or 3 times a week. Haven't had any overheating issues even after running it at Deals Gap last year. I change the oil regularly with Mobil 1 and a K&N oil filter. If you take care of your car it will last. If anyone is wondering wether or not to get the sport package just look at the mileage I'm getting on my clutch when I've seen others with 20-25k replacing theirs. This is by far my favorite car I've ever owned :driving:

this is awesome. but weren't you the one who ran into a deer or something a while back and had to get your front bumper replaced?

:iagree: good job maintaining your Z. its inspiration to other Z owners to maintain it as nice as you did, hopefully I can as well. Gonna keep mine till till the wheels fall off. (not literally of course :icon17:)

I purchased mine last August or September with 27k. I now have 47k and the years not even over yet.

Its my DD though, & I drive 45 minutes to work & 45 Minutes home everyday. Not to mention gym, grocery store, bank, etc..

I had a slight problem with my gears grinding on my 7AT but it seemed to go away..

USMCASA- is your car paid off? I still have a while to go on my loan & debating selling the car in order to get more of a return on my initial purchase..

I was looking into something more practical for my long commute.. Prius? Or Something..

I went from a Tahoe to Charger R/T to 370z. Slowly getting better and better MPG.

92k:driving:

DEpointfive0 06-19-2012 07:00 AM

Glad to see someone beating it

Living here is Dallas I don't drive as much as I used to, although there was a stint where I was driving to Houston (500mi round trip) every weekend, so I racked up several thousand miles quickly there... When I lived in LA, I would've had you beat, I was averaging 49k a year, tires every 15k miles along with pads [I beat the shite out of that car]... (I was driving a 2001 Toyota Avalon, I blew the engine rebuilt it and STILL kept driving it, LOL)

My 370z has 42k on it (Its not quite 2 years old yet). My dad's '04 350Z has 150k miles on it though. Not the original engine though.

Alstann 06-19-2012 12:06 PM

That being said...how much do you guys think a block replacement would cost if say, after 150k+ miles, the engine has some sort of failure? Worth it?

DEpointfive0 06-19-2012 02:09 PM

Replace or rebuild? I had my engine rebuilt in LA with a 2 year unlimited mile warranty for $2.2k?

Went over 26K recently in my 2.5 years of driving my 09. I mostly drive with SRM off, I would like to think I shift smoothly but are you high mileage guys preserving the clutch by driving with it on all the time? I like heel-toeing but am a practical person when it comes to going the distance on wear-parts.

mhcoss 06-19-2012 08:34 PM

I plan on driving my Z into the ground and then rebuilding it. I'll never sell her mwahahah

Ha OP I remember in another mileage thread you were at ~71k. I'm now at 55K and have had 0 issues as well. I'm debating on whether or not to run the **** out of it for a few thousand miles to make sure everything's good before the power train warranty runs out.

Probably better to have it happen before the warranty runs out than after. I'm at 45k, but my driving has significantly reduced now that I'm done with school. My school was 30 miles away from home and 40 miles from work and now I just drive like 10 miles to work.

Damn that's a lot, a forum member has about that much mileage or mate even more at this point and it's still holding up with no issues.

garage kept and yes there are tons of bugs here. there are lots of fields and farmland south of where i live on the way to work and i just try and stay on top of cleaning it (about once a week) and keep a good coat of wax up front

this next set on the rear will be the 6th set i've ran on the rear, currently the 3rd on the front. started with the stockers till about 7500 on the rear and went with nitto invo's. while they are cheap and sticky, they sound horrible toward the end of their tread life. instead of going the cheap route i went with a more costly tire and got a harder compound. i've been running the michelin pilot sports a/s ever since and will never buy anything else. i don't track the car and i have not seen any loss of grip with these tires. they also last 3 times as long as others and ride/sound the best of any tire i have ever bought.

Good to know my sweet turbo baby will to past 100k

houkouonchi 07-26-2012 08:56 AM

I will be over 50k miles after next week. That being said I do have a 2010 model which I bought new (6 miles on it) and I have had it 2 years and 1 months.

NickTurnon 07-26-2012 09:36 AM

51K on my 09. I was going to try and sell it at 45k in order to get most of my money back. But i think I fell far too in love with the car..

I guess I will just continue to drive it like USMCASA... People hate for saying I put too many miles on it. But works too far & I love to drive.

Tribalpinoy91 07-26-2012 09:40 AM

Just approaching 3,000 miles.
