I pay just under $1000 full coverage. So it's comparable to what our friends to the south of us are paying.

Insurance companies simply have some type of mathematical algorithm for assessing risk of loss. There is usually large variations between companies as they each weigh different risk factors differently. Try another company and you might find a shockingly large variation.

They also don't care about your "experience" over those in your same category. You are going to be pooled with 20-somethings that have never driven and the same ages with lots of road experience.

It's stuff like that is the reason why it's really expensive buying insurance in California as a young kid. You don't hear it all the time, but I do pay attention to the local news and such news with age group appears more often publicly. (Maybe there's more in other age groups, but who knows).

When I was 18, I had a 1985 Toyota Celica GT-S. Car was valued $800. My insurance cost nearly $2400 a year on just liability.

I am currently paying $107 a month in Miami, FL. Full coverage 100/50/30 i think. The driving "profile" used by All State is a single male 30 years old.

I recently got married and I just called my insurance company to update my "profile" to married status. Statisctically speaking, a married person has a less chance to get into an accident then a single person.

I am trying to get my coverage below $100.00 dollars. I am also adding my wife's car to my policy to get a multi car coverage discount as well. Maybe I get below $90.00 or $80.00 a month. LOL lets see.

I'm at $102 thru Progressive. 26 years old. Single. Renting. One "at fault" accident(total loss).

I had a used 2009 370Z(totalled now) which was $130/month
...then upgraded to a more expensive brand new 370Z and my insurance dropped to $98/month at the time. Slowly moved to $102 now 1.5 years later
