Don't forget the price difference that is paid between the Vette and the 370z. It's not like they are in the same league.

370z cost the same as a new base c6.

So you can get a brand new C6 for 32k and a grand sport for 35k??? Wow, when did this happen? Right now my dealer has a silver touring sport auto for 41k. Last I saw the base C6 was 49k.

Nissan has already comped me a 2/30k maintenance program because a tech scratched the underside of the sill on my car putting it on the rack. Their excuse? "Oh, you know them low ridings cars."
Fail.
Manager apologized and compress me a service program. Meh. It's a car and it will get scratches, but new? In service? No thanks. (The rockers are not available pre painted, so replacement is a no go.)

What did gm do when a similar issue arose on my z06?
The plant manager himself pulled a new, oem $1800 fender off the line and sent it immediately to my dealership and the owner himself apologized. The z06 had, and I don't know how or when, a slightly cracked fender. 1/4", but could spread. This is how gm handled it. Nissan can't do that. I don't even have a clue who runs the z plant even.

The bottom line is that Nissan is across the pond and you are just sol in America. Gm is here and can do something.

That said, its the corner/underside of the rocker panels, so ill just live with it. Road trash may or may not have the same effect ib a few years, anyway.

I owned GM cars before... they may treat you like that on a $70,000 vette? But try that on a 33k camaro... its like a nun in a whorehouse. It ain't happening. Just like everything in life. It depends on your dealership. My dealership has taken care of everything I ask with litttle to no fuss.
When it comes to scratches, pre-inspect a car before you sign. They will fix anything if you haven't signed? Once you signed? You're done. Fixing scratches gets more difficult. This is true of all sub $50k cars. Sometimes you can find a dealer that will go above and beyond. But its not everywhere.
I know GT-R guys get a lot of preferential treatment at the dealership. The more you pay, the better they treat you.

C6's go low 40's with a few options, stripped GS goes mid 40's.

Both were after I signed. The 370z was caused during cbe install.

Back to the topic at hand, the ZL1 is a beast! It looks crazy aggressive and performs fantastically from the reviews I've read. Yes it's heavy, but that magno suspension works miracles for its handling. For under $60k, a ZR1 motor and magno shocks is a steal! On a track this car would smoke a Z. If you can afford it, why the hell not. Yes camaros might not be that rare, but the ZL1 sure doesn't look like a stock camaro.

Meh, it looks like the v6 with a body kit my local dealership sold a while back. Pix popped up a year ago on my fb page of zl1 clones. It's a camaro. Nuf said. Performance is awesome, but its nothing special in the looks dept. Imo

Plus, my comment about the Factory's productivity and quality are fact. However, while the General can deliver a great vehicle(s), the after purchase service is horrendous.

My mother lives in Oshawa and my brother in Courtice. Nice area. TO sux, plain and simple. Qualifier - I was born and raised there. TO guys, get outta there while you still can, lol!:driving:

Hey import just to let you know. Chevy land is set to receive a ZL1 that a customer canceled their order for a 13 with a color not avail on 12's :tiphat: I still don't have an order # but this car is definitely worth waiting for.

I am not interested in the ZL1. I do not like the look of the car at all, and my 370Z has plenty of performance for MY purposes.

That's weird because I cross shopped the vette

Chevrolet

According to Chevy's WEBSITE.

A Base C6 corvette is $49,600
A grand sport is $56,000
A Z06 is $75,600
A ZR-1 is $111,600

HERE'S NISSAN

http://mobile.usablenet.com/mt/www.n...ol=model.build

A Z base is $31,910
A Z sport is $34,940
A Z touring is $36,610
A tour sport is $39,640
A NISMO is $41.290

You are way off base Import. These are the prices for all these cars before they have any options or incentives.

GaleForce 03-11-2012 11:22 AM

Here I thought it was just the Canadian pricing that made the Vette's price higher than a Z...
