You answered your own question -- the G is a more luxury oriented Z.

If you do start modding, the difference between them will become negligible in performance, but the luxury remains.

If you are able/willing to pay for it, go for it.

Thanks for the input :D
I think im going to keep the Z and come out with some other alternatives:tup: Cant get on pass my Z just yet.:happydance:

Id stick with the Z. First of all you see G's EVERYWHERE not so much with the Z. The G is nice dont get me wrong but unless you have a family screw back seats. Enjoy a 2 seater while you can because someday you are gonna want one and your wife is gonna be looking at you like "keep dreamin mother-fvcker". Z all the way. G's are for yuppies and married guys that wanted a Z:stirthepot:

:icon18: thats why I got my Z in the first place. Im gonna keep it for as long I can
Thanks for the great feedback reminding me of the first time I got my eyes on the Z:rofl2:

touring edition Z FTW! other than the backseat thing, the z can have all options listed. however, with this being said, if i had to DD the car, i would have gotten a g37, 335i, or s4 V8. theres no replacement for more seats in a car.

i'd say go with the g37. by this point, you are probably already familiar with this platform and engine layout. you might be suprised how much of that knowlege and familiarity transfers over between cars. think of it as a 370z.5 lol

I really wish I had the touring package then I would be a happy man. didnt think id need that at first in sports car :shakes head:

I got a base 6mt Z with s/p but sometimes I really wish I had heated seats, nav,etc just more luxury overall and some EXTRA Seats. Iv been with my Z for half a year now and really have been enjoying it everytime I get into it. However I am not a track guy nor a mod guy, at least for now. I use my Z as DD since its my first and only car.

What are your thoughts on switching between the two?
How much handling"aka FUN"am I going to lose in the G and how much luxury am I gaining?
Could you give me some very reallistic PROs and CONs on the G compared to Z?

Any related words are welcomed!
This would be a big choice if I am going to make it.

Thanks in advance
Elric

my thought is that you should keep both.

I purchased my base 370z used as well and it streatched my budget at the time. Since that time I added seat warmers (purchased on ebay), lumbar support, Kenwood stereo with Nav and backup camera, and homelink. I once check on upgrading to a Sport Touring Model 370z at a dealer and after haggling for while, the differential was huge (~$15K). If you just a few more luxury items, you can certain add them for way more than purchasing a different car. Now if you need the rear seats, that a different issue.

The G is heavier and has two extra seats. It's more practical.

Someone said G's are AWD. Not all of them. You can get an AWD G37, but you can also get a RWD one.

Do what's best for you, but for my situation, I'd take the Z every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I was wondering if there are RWD Gs. But I m going to keep the Z for as long as I could. Just too good to pass on her:tup:

kenchan 03-08-2012 11:25 AM

why would one get a AWD G? :icon14: just get snow tires if RWD.

If you are wanting creature comforts (like I do), go with a Sport Touring.

Exclusive??? Lol. Yeah, I park mine next to the lambo and drive my Z less than the Lam cuz its sooooo exclusive.:superghey:

 Those comforts belong in a G not a dedicated sports car like the Z.:ughdance:

I have not driven a G37 however I sat in one and while I think the Z's seats are comfortable, the G was next level. Extremely comfortable. The finish inside is nice and yes, back seats.

I just had a son a few months ago, the only reason I'd switch to a G is if I couldn't get a 3rd car and swtiching made more sense.

The looks have grown on me, I'm in a local VQ club and there are some sick ones, I feel black is the best color. Great thing about the Z is you see much less of them, if you care about that sort of thing. There are 4 G's in my Condo Parking lot.

:tiphat:I think the G is growing on me as well. I did not really care about them at first. However, every time I wished there are more luxury around me I imagine the G being better. But for now I would like to keep my Z and add on some luxury one at a time. Didnt know the Z had grown all over me:rofl2:
Thanks for the feedback and congraz on your new family member!

I went from a G37S (fully loaded) to a 370z (fully loaded). I honestly can't pick a favourite. I like them both equally. I would get another G in a heartbeat. Performance/handling suffers a bit with the G, but what you lose in that category, you gain in toys. But in your case, you haven't had the Z long enough in my opinion to switch over.

I need to keep the Z a bit longer I agree. Cant pass on the Z yet but wish I had a fully loaded one like you

I used to own a 2008 G37 and while I loved the car, the Z is much more enjoyable to drive and you definitely do feel the weight difference. I am only 20 years old though. If luxury is what you are looking for, the G will fill all those needs and still be plenty of fun to drive. The interior noise is night and day, as well as the comfort level. As others said above me... If the Z is your fun car and you do a lot of spirited driving keep the Z, if its just a mode of transportation with some quick runs through the twisties and highway pulls I would take the G... Hope this helps a little

Thanks for the great feedback. I do enjoy driving the Z a lot and plan to keep it for couple more year while I still can. :p
Adding some more features later on hope that will solve my quest for luxury. XD

Ya i must admit, I really love the exclusivity of the Z. Nobody has them! And realistically, when you get the touring package on the Z, you're not really missing out on too many toys.

:tiphat:Is there any way to add the touring package to the base car?
The touring is really all I want, since I am going to keep the Z for more years.

Thanks

What's FRD? THE G37 and G37s coupe and sedan are RWD vehicles. You can opt for a G37x or xsport that is AWD. AWD comes at a premium and is NOT the standard Drivetrain.

Could FRD be Front engine rear wheel Drive?
Just a thought after playing GT5 :icon17:
