I am telling you. On this forum you occasionally read about people dying from mainly car accidents, on the Corvette forum it is mainly old age. The track page is where you get good info, but then those guys are really hardcore.

:icon18: I do see some OLD dudes driving 'vettes. I'll be the same way if I make to those years.

Outside of the track guys, a lot of people buy Corvettes because they dreamed of one as a child. If you think the Z guys are protective about their cars, you should read some of the Corvette guys. I can get entertainment reading posts outside of the tech section here, on the Corvette forum it's mainly guys stroking each other/bragging how much money they make/politics (I am sure you can figure out which way they lean).

I've visited the Corvette forums before, a lot of their cars get the garage queen treatment. One guy was upset that he put 30 miles on his car...

Absolutely, the C6 has a much softer suspension that doesn't beat you up. Of course that also means the car leans quite a bit more than the 370. Overall handling I give a slight edge to the 370, but I think it's mainly because of the bigger tires I have on the Z. The C6 does have a better rear diff that allows for better corner exit.

dont forget about the corvette's ultra modern suspension...

and before u ask, yeas i know how quick they are, but just... leaf springs!!!!

plus knowing the next gen corvette was due to come out in the next year would bother me... well that and the bargain bin interior u would have to stare at every day... things that make u go "buhhh-h-h"

Does it really matter? Thats like the same people who argues the z runs a maxima motor. they got what they want out of it, it works and it performs well.

Its also the same people that say the LSX motor is just an antiquated pushrod V8.

i just say this because my car isn't as fast as a Z06....

ok there i said it!!!! :facepalm:

I still maintain about the interior tho....

The composite material transverse springs in the corvette are very good. Not a problem in the world with them. My z06 was much more planted over bumps than my 370z. It's a great suspension. The base c6 is also more planted. Corvette uses a simple, effective, light setup.

I love them both. Had a Z06 bodied C6 and the 370. On the track, I am much more comfortable and confident in the 370, and therefore faster, even with the horsepower deficit. On the street, the corvette was definitely much more of a head turner (than before I went black and orange on the 370, now everyone stares at me when I do drive it in public)

Much like a Viper, the Z06 is a fantastic machine that takes a large amount of skill to handle well. Hence why I'd be more than happy with an LS3-powered C6...

Not only skill, but a track. It's pointless on the street, and why I now own a 379.

PERFECT!:bowrofl::roflpuke2::icon18:

(and that's why the corvette is a corvette)

Shame it still owns the gtr when the road bends. Pushrods, leaf springs, rwd, manual transmission. Who cares when you're winning?
