This may sound like a newb question but this is my first rear wheel drive car.

Just wondering if there are any good videos or sites with good instruction for countersteering and all the crazy **** that happens with fast rear wheel drive cars.

Thanks

haha, thanks man. I'll have to go pick up GT5 and the steering wheel. I'm sure it is very similar. About the same as practicing stealing cars and killing people in grand theft auto.

Whatever you do leave traction control enabled. GTA or GT5 will not prepare you for the actual g-forces and the scared out of your mind feeling if you lose control.

Those games are nothing like actually driving a car. I wreck the damn thing every 10 feet playing those, even with the steering wheel and all that accessory stuff like the shifter and all. You get no actual feedback from the game. So if you are good in the game, you might be total fail in the real world. Vice versa. It's like playing guitar on guitar hero. No carry over.

OP...Harrisburg...is that Pennsylvania? You have snow? The best way to learn is to take your car out in a vacant parking lot with an inch or two of snow. You'll learn quick about turning into a spin. That's what my Dad did to me 40 years ago.

I grew up driving snowmobiles and rear wheel drive four wheelers. I don't think there's a replacement for experience

Agreed! I learned how to drift by going to a huge abandoned parking lot after it would rain. Sadly I then took those skills onto the road... I drifted right past a cop one time.

Take an autocross course. I did that as soon as I got my license about 20 yrs ago, but you learn how to control anything and everything.
