How do u guys drive ur z?

So i drive my z daily. However i baby my car... Lol... Like i usually shift around 2-3k rpm... Now i was just curious how all u guys drive ur car? Like if i am driving like 50mph... I would be in like 5th or 6th gear... But how do u drive ur car? Just curious to know. Its not bad to baby ur car right? Also if i am driving uphill i usually shift around 3k-4k rpm.... Lmk i am really curious to see how all u fellas drive ur sexy car.

RedNismoZ 03-01-2012 04:07 PM

I dtive with both hands.
I shift around 2-4k rpm.
Then sometimes I drive like a bat outa hell.

AppleZ 03-01-2012 04:07 PM

I bought this car to have fun and drive it like it was intended. Why baby a sports car? Have fun with it. It's designed to go fast.

Cmike2780 03-01-2012 04:10 PM

I usually baby her, but sometimes she's just asking to be slapped around.

RedNismoZ 03-01-2012 04:11 PM

Its all fun and games until gas goes up to $5.

I usually shift around 3k rmp. But when I don't feel like conserving gas, I punch it lol. It's not good to baby a car 24/7. If U start modding it and driving crazy, I heard that's not good, that's if you baby it 24/7. It's good to open her up casually.

Baer383 03-01-2012 06:05 PM

I drive it just like I stole it,if it breaks get a new one.

How many miles you have again?:bowrofl:

My_third_Z 03-01-2012 06:45 PM

If I don't make the traction control indication on my dash light up each time I drive I feel like I've failed.

OnceSolemn 03-01-2012 07:08 PM

I'm babying her for another few hundred miles... She's only a week old. Once we get out of break-in, I plan on being a regular at traffic court. :-)

how do you do this?

Gauge 03-01-2012 07:19 PM

I drive my car like I'm being chased. I bought this car to go fast. If the car can't take it then my next won't be a Nissan. ;)

Its under your settings ui on the left. You can set it any rpm, some use it at lower rpm to make sure they shift to save gas. Others leave it at 7500, I'm off, because I love to redline.

UNKNOWN_370 03-01-2012 07:56 PM

I occasionally hit the rev limiter before shifting. My driving varies. I can granny it till I practically want to fall asleep behind the wheel or I tap into her hard deep n rough. Floggin er till she gets tired and thirsty and needs to be quenched.
You can't over baby a sports car because then the ECU begins to forget its linked to a sports car. Eventually driving the Z will feel like driving an altima, hence being a 37k waste of cash.

RoshDawg 03-01-2012 08:14 PM

I drive with hands at 9 and 3 position. Sitting upright all the time. Taking every apex properly. Downshift and brake before turns. Up shift at 3K RPM exactly (when it makes that cool VROOM sound). And floor it till 10 past the speed limit at least once every drive (even if its a 2 minute drive).

Letting off the gas at 4k+ RPM for a stop sign / red light sounds so beautiful!

Normal driving, I'm still used to my Z06. I shift before 2K, except I leave it in 5th until I am doing 50mph or so. I might change my habits later as I get more used to the car. 6th is like 4th gear almost exactly in the Z06 regarding rpm.

DarkJak 03-01-2012 11:16 PM

I can't say it drive it more aggressively than I drove my old camry. That thing you had to push to the limit to have any sort of fun.

Driving the Z slowly seems like a waste of an investment though, so I'm sad whenever I have to do it, whether it's because of traffic or because I'm going on a road with frequent cops. The Z is for pleasure first, transportation second for me, and my driving reflects that.

That is EXACTLY why I sold my Z06 and got into a car with a killer NAV system, nice interior, and BOSE sound system (not that it's all that awesome, but compared to what was in my Z06, it might as well be heaven's own choir). You can't always drive these kinds of cars like you want to sanely. You need something else going for the car to make it worth owning on long road-trips or in traffic.

Also, yes, I beat the crap out of my G20. I have to to merge.

I'd be driving a stolen car all casual-like, playing nice in traffic and blending in with the crowd. Surely you meant something else.

Also, if you're babying your car, why did you buy a 370 then.

NFSZ86 03-02-2012 12:37 AM

Letting that Gas go at 4k rpms at a red light and still burning rubber in second. Is Just Pure SEX =)) yeah then I baby it for a week lol

If you have to ask how I drive the 370Z Sport....you don't know me....

I am Mike....Or "skinny mini Vinnie Diesel". haha

I drive my cars pretty hard...

Still getting used to the 2009 Touring Sport 370z i just got..6000 miles on it.

Seems slower than the 350Z I had, but we will see..It is only a week old..

But spank my cars ? All the time..

It is the Wife's car..She drive it hard all the time but not flat out... I cruise around and then just beat it when I get the chance.

The 350Z was a lot of fun to Jump in and drive...Even after getting out of my car...

I like it....The 350Z was fun with traction control off, i can't wait to test my 2009 370Z sport.

My Z/28 is just stupid silly if you 4000rpm dump it....you will be sideways through three gears and near 90mph when you straighten out...:eek::eek:

Ask me how I know...But God, i love this new technology...:driving:
