its so hard to resist just punching the gas on the Z, its just so tempting, they position you are seated at, the feel of the wheel, the knowledge of how it will fly down the interstate when you step on it, and the rush you get when you do. (especially windows down.)

I'm baby mine right now b/c I only have 225 miles on it. On the highway I have the cruise control set to 60mph. I am waiting for my exhaust to come in which will be the middle of next month. Once the exhaust is on.....ENOUGH SAID. The car will be treated like a lady during the day & possibly like a whore at night. It is all about if I'm wanting to pimp my ride out for the day or for the night.

Yeah. However, my wife felt a rush with the windows up. :) The trip from Rochester, NY to Long Island, NY, and back, was my Z's first significant road-trip. She performed admirably. ;)

I will have to re read the rules before speaking..

There is something in the rule about talking about breaking wind, or breaking traction, that I am not supposed to talk about...

Also if you are not racing anyone but yourself, is that called nissantrubation ?:roflpuke2:

Also the on ramps and off ramps seem to be a good spot to "get up to speed" on...:tup:

In the Z/28 ? Fugitaboutit....Let's just say it is fun...Sometimes I am looking out the passenger window while going forward....:driving::yum:

juicypinkkk 04-17-2012 05:34 PM

:rofl2:.... Maybe he is breaking in his vehicle. I hope he is. Well gas is high right, but we didn't buy the Z to be eco friendly either.

I make sure to clean my passenger window so i can see out of it when I am "driving"..

Dsevast 04-17-2012 07:41 PM

Usually drive mine like a sports car should be. Got the car last year and have already gotten 2 tickets :shakes head:. I guess the cops don't like when you drive with tinted windows, no front plate, and swing your back end out around turns. Worst part about getting a brand new sports car is having to baby it until you break in the engine.

I do drive it like a baby when I transport the lady friend around in it...

+1............. All I can say is AMEN brotha. I am just waiting till the day comes & those effen panties will drop like no tomorrow & that exhaust is going to scream like a SOB. This is until the engine breaks in of course (980 miles to-go). Once the lady is in the ride....well you have to be respectful & calm. If she wants fast that will not be a problem b/c DADDY will show her how it is done.

Mine sits on a rotating platform in my living room and roped off.

:iagree: +1

My wife drives the Z very respectfully. I drive the Z like it wants to be driven  I think Project Weekend Mistress about sums it up.

kenchan 04-19-2012 11:34 AM

while i baby the Z's paint and overall cosmetics, i dont baby her at all when motoring... i dont drive abusively or anything, no power shifts, etc. just spirited fun with flashing shift-up indicator a couple times each time. :)

B&W_Evader 04-20-2012 10:24 AM

I have 4 modes...

Cold (oil temp under 160) Babied - keeping the engine between 2200 and 3300
Warm and in traffic, Highest gear without getting the rpm below 2000
Warm and open road, 3000-6000.
Pushing it will get the shift light to come on occasionally. Can't do much of this yet since my oil cooler isn't in yet.

Drive hard but be gentle. Thashing on a car by snapping the clutch, 2nd gear chirps, etc will distroy her. Trust me, I did this on my first 4 cars. It's a ton of fun and they'll take it for a long time. You will have higher maintenance costs, and you will distroy her in the long run. Redlining will reduce life and cause loss of power over time but rings and cams are not that difficult to replace. Cornering just wears out tires ball joints and bearings. Easy to replace. But rattles never go away. Loose drivelines, noisy rear ends and broken transmissions get expensive really quick.

keb370z 04-20-2012 11:16 AM

I drive like a total a$$ because it's what people expect when they see my car's hotness. I can't let the public down.

(100th post! Man they add up fast.)

Warm Water, cold oil - Shift before 4k
Warm overall - have fun :driving:
