On Oahu, the first thing an auto repair place will ask you is "please don't tell me you have Progressive?"

Skunks too - seeing a skunk in the middle of the road will definitely test your braking distance. :rofl2:

i completely agree... they can destroy your ride for months even with no visual damage :rofl2: haha

Down here in southern Florida, it's actually old people that are the most dangerous thing on the road. They're only out while the sun's up, because they eat dinner and go to bed at 4 PM.

we'll see how you do in your Z. lol

accidents happen when you least expect it... seasoned driver or not.

I used it in my Civic and HATED it. The beep is annoying as all get out, and their definition of "braking hard" is anything, including not braking, other than basically coasting to a stop. Another thing with driving a manual, is a lot of the time, when you have the slight roll backwards on a big hill before driving off, it reads THAT as a hard brake.

All said, it saved me a little bit of money, but it made driving in the city so annoying, I would've gladly paid the extra few bucks a month without using it.

Edit: Also, switched to Geico now. Costs me about $60 a month less for my Z and my wife's Mazda 3

I had a G37 before this. When I got the Z, I changed to Progressive because my old insurance company was none too happy with the fact that the NHTSA has never crash tested a single z34 in its ~7 years on the road.

Always check other companies for prices. I have State Farm and Progressive was never even in the same ball park. Progressive and Geico and the others weren't close. Generally they were 50% to 100% more than I pay.
Seems like these devices are just gimmicks. State Farm has it also but my agent says don't bother. My rates are already the lowest they offer. If you have a good driving record these things will not help at all.
I had Progressive for my motorcycles but went to Dairyland which was half as much.
True Joy. Watching Flo and the Wendy's girl go off a cliff together.

But plenty of Z owners have.

Haha this thing is awesome, can't believe I didn't know about it before! Yay necro-thread!
I wish my insurance company had something like this, I would get it immediately.
First thing I would do is bed in my XP10's again. Then probably a top speed run or two. At 3:00AM of course.

And see how many panic stops you can do before the brakes fade. :icon17:

I have been with State Farm over 25 years now and no one else can touch my rates. As far as service/claims go other than having a 25 minute conversation with them when my wife took out an owl with her Sentra (blown grill and bent headlight bracket) the process was quick and easy.
My advice to everyone is to carry a low comprehensive (50 dollars or less) Collision 500 to 750, rental 30-40 a day, towing, uninsured and underinsured and your states minumums.
Make sure when you are comparing rates to check all those as I have in the past. They will show cheaper but when I add to match what I have currently its way more.

I also found out that I am (Mutual) with State Farm. After a length of time staying with them they cannot cancel my insurance regardless of wrecks, tickets, etc but can raise my rates.

State Farm also has the similar snap shot method. I dont like the thought of them determining my driving habits as unsafe when I know its not. I do drive aggressive at times to get out of traffic situations but only to get cleared out of a jam and get the distance I need from other vehicles which is safer.
