Does the B&M feel significantly different than stock?

Yes. It is shorter and easier.

Yes IMO it does. With the stock shifter I would sometimes slip into 2nd coming from 4th, instead of 3rd. But due to the precise gate of the B&M setup I don't see that happening anymore. There are those who may not like the effort that is needed to shift the B&M, but I've had short shifters on all of my manual cars (4, 6 & 8 cylinders) for the last 15 years so I'm just used to the extra effort needed. I sit high as a tall person in my Z with long arms, so leverage using the shorter stick is not an issue for me either. I also replaced the OEM knob with a new one, since the old one was so difficult to remove.
