It's really pretty simple. Both the trans and diff have a drain plug on the bottom and a fill plug on the side. Drain oil and replug. Then pump oil in from side till it starts to flow out.

Should't be and dealer concerns nor warrenty issues.

Just make sure you open the fill plug first. Nothing worse than draining your fluid, only to find out you can't open the fill plug.

I made that mistake -- once -- with one of my 240Z's. It was one of my glaringly brilliant moments.

The fill plug on the trans just would not budge and I had already drained it. The fix involved pulling the tranny out so that I could use a breaker bar with a pipe extension to break it free.

A less than one hour job turned into almost a day very quickly.

There are some great guides in the DIY section. No warranty concerns, Redline is MUCH better stuff than the factory fills...

Doing the Diff is really easy. Just follow the DIY bushman66 said and you should be golden.

There is no difference in the diff's need for oil change; whether auto or manual transmission.

Differing opinions. I've made it a rule to always change out factory fills at ~1500 miles in all of my new cars. Seems to work for me. I can say the gear oil in the rear diff was very nasty, and there was a lot of metallic particulates on the magnet. So, it was worth the 15 minutes it takes to do it...IMHO
