I like it. The candy red exterior also looks great. I don't like the wavy spoke on the new wheel style. No more fangs. Too bad no power bump.

Maybe we should welcome them and point them over to your Steering Lock Sticky. :rofl2:

:iagree: I don't care for the "350ish" look it it has so much.. & they removed the fangs which I actually liked.. Without any power boost I see no reason to upgrade until they "refresh" this series of Z's again... But the new RIMS do look good..

clintfocus 02-07-2012 05:12 PM

my $.02...

i feel they softened the styling of the 2013 in a effort to sell more volume of 370s, i said it from the beginning the reason the 370 was not selling in huge numbers, and the 350 did is because the 370 styling is really aggressive, and not as appealing to none enthusiast buyers. Normal people see aggressive styling as gaudy and over the top. I think this revision will help nissan get more 370s out the door, which i cant knock them for, every car company wants to have cars that sell, they are a buisness. But i do prefer the 09-12 styling more, as most of you guys do to, BECAUSE we are enthusiasts and it appeals to our pallet

:roflpuke2: Hopefully the r using rev "D" or did they come up with a REV "E"?

StLRedrider 02-07-2012 05:36 PM

I like the new red!

fncrow 02-07-2012 05:52 PM

i like the new paint color and i kinda like the wheels a bit more than the old sport rays but other than that not much to write home about

flatrick 02-07-2012 05:54 PM

how the f*** could they mess up this bad?

how the f*** could they mess up this bad?

i mean, seriously, commoooon...this is just ridiculous.

i just recently graduated and am working in my first ever job. I have been looking to buy my first car for a couple of years now, but my financial situations allows me that only today.

I loved the 370z from the beginning. just astonishing styling, with edgy front bumper and funky yet assertive wheels.

with the 40th anniversary edition, i thought the look got even better and the more aggressive direction was the way to go. so i obviously thought i would go for this model, but decided to wait and see what this refresh was about.

omg, what a disappointment. the front looks ultra boring now and gives the car an overall tacky look. the wheels, even though very similar, just look off now...too out there, too artistic...im not even able to understand how they managed to ruin them so drastically with just such little change. as my wife put it, they look like corals now and I'm just praying i won't start seeing the previous wheels in the same fashion.

talk about counterproductive modifications. i mean I'm literally in awe at how little they were able to come up with and still make the car look like such a dull car!

my second choice for a sports car was the lotus evora 2013, but that seems to be the only lotus prototype which was presented in 2010 that won't come into production although the majority of critics acclaimed it as the bestlooking of the future lotus cars. talk about automotive industry's bad management decisions...no wonder they're fairing so bad!

graaaah I'm just so irritated and pissed about this...i just hope that this tendency won't reflect on future cars because i already find it hard to find a car that i think looks nice but if the idea is to ruin even those few i don't know what my options will be.

Not a fan of the new wheels... I'm curious about the new exterior color midnight blue. I'm thinking that it is going to look really good. I wonder if Nissan is going to continue with the Nismo model for 2013, and if so are they going to get a new face lift as well???

Mike 02-07-2012 06:03 PM

I too have to see it in person. I wasn't impressed with magazine photos of the 370 at all. Then I saw a couple at Zdayz and bought one the day we got home.

Yes, they are continuing the Nismo, but no facelift, but other new additions:

Quote:

The Nismo model doesn’t benefit from the visual tweaks, but gets a new Bose Premium Audio Package with two additional speakers and two subwoofers, premium gun metallic dark-finish 19-inch wheels, and Nissan GT-R style high-rigidity brake hoses and performance brake fluid.

I may trade in my 09 Nismo for the "new" 2013 Nismo now so I can get the new color wheels, better speakers and better brake lines :ugh2: lol!!

zero 02-07-2012 06:38 PM

We should ask potential Z buyers, if you would wait for 2013 or buy 2012 now.

Strangler 02-07-2012 06:38 PM

The rims look a bit odd, but I really like the front fog lights. I don't think this is enough for a trade in though.

Well put, I agree 100%. I'm not digging the new 350 style, it would have been nice to see brake vents or styling closer to the nismo front end but I guess that would have been to aggressive. I do like that they are offering the bose stereo and are upgradeing the brake lines and fluid for the 2013 nismo model, kind of makes you think that nissan is acknowledging that there was a brake issue with the 09-12 models. The red calipers on the sport models is a nice touch too.

TongMan 02-07-2012 06:58 PM

Now the 350z guys can't complain about the front end cuz its so similar to their 350z.

Z_Girl 02-07-2012 06:59 PM

What I'd really like to see is them stop tweaking the body - lets put a turbo in there already!

clintfocus 02-07-2012 07:02 PM

i would rather the Z stay NA, the engine bay is already cramped, adding turbo related parts will just make it even tighter, and a turbo 370 will drive up the cost

dAvenue 02-07-2012 07:14 PM

The "refresh" actually makes me happy and, like someone said in a related thread, I'm not going to feel jealous when I (if I) see one on the road. It has reinforced the love for my '10 that I'll keep for years to come.

Gotta agree with that !!

rebe945 02-07-2012 07:32 PM

2013

like the midnight blue. like to see the 18 wheels too. Mild upgrade. probably a preamble to a redesign for 2014.

svt to 370z 02-07-2012 08:49 PM

I think it will really grow on me once I can see it in person. I like the front end of mine but I think this might look really good in person. ill just have to see

Jjaden 02-07-2012 08:58 PM

Wow, really?

The rims look like Ninja stars, and the front bumper looks boring and uninspired.

If they had made some tasteful changes, like maybe done something subtle to the fenders, and had a stillen/fuji inspired front bumper I'd be impressed, but this was a total fail....

Three7D 02-07-2012 08:58 PM

No fangs??? Looks like they re-did the 350, unless there's some HP added I think it's a fail.

Don't get me wrong it doesn't look bad, jus looks like a step backwards to me.

no way, they'll milk this design at least a few years

kenchan 02-07-2012 09:00 PM

yah, they will most-likely use this ugly until 2015 maybe even... yikes.

Gixxer-370Z 02-07-2012 09:03 PM

HA! I'd pick my car over that every day of the week for at least the next few years, if not longer....

didymus 02-07-2012 09:04 PM

You have to wonder if nissan did any focus groups on this redesign..

kenchan 02-07-2012 09:09 PM

who the f- are the other 6 that said 'yes i can!' :ugh2: :icon17: ;)

austex 02-07-2012 09:09 PM

really like the rear fog and the blacked out fuel gauge cluster... oh wait... i did both of those mods to my 09...

I do really like the red calipers, not sure about the new sport wheels, and don't think the new front end is too horrible... miss the fangs. But it does look clean and I guess they broke down to the current fad of the mandatory LED lights on the front end.

wish they would have provided a slight power bump or a drop in weight?????

Not even Freshman car designers... Nissan FAILS again!

GaleForce 02-07-2012 09:12 PM

I would have expected to see that front bumper design on the 2009 model 370z. It would have made sense coming from the 350z to that... but not now.

Yeah rumors & based on life cycles of sports cars, a full redesign Z will be 2015 or 16. most likely depends on how this one sells/economy/nissan's game plan.

ShockWave 02-07-2012 09:13 PM

GaleForce 02-07-2012 09:15 PM

Am I the only one who doesn't like the rear fog light mod and now the rear reflector? It's the one thing that bothered me on the Canadian models. I would have tinted it if I didn't buy an American model Z.

themann1984 02-07-2012 09:15 PM

The 370Z is pure sex! It is hot, loud, and rough!

mjg 02-07-2012 09:53 PM

The 13' is still a hot car, but I think I like the front bumper better. Have they shown any changes for the NISMO, do they still offer it? I'd prefer it over this...
