It's very rare. Most people try to use their current car as a down payment. If you figure that tax, title and license in AZ is about 10% then add in the instant depreciation. I would guess someone would be looking around 20%-30% down to stay above water from point of purchase.

Now if you buy used... It's A LOT less. But new is ruff.

Wild. If I finance I always figure how much I need to put down so I'll always be ahead. Guess that's not as common of a practice as I thought.

I'm being tempted by a Z06.....

m4a1mustang 01-29-2012 07:38 AM

I too have bought and sold many cars over the years but none of them have grown on me like the Z if this car can be trouble free (for the most part)then I will end up keep it for a long time.

Though I know I will be buying another sports car inside of the NEXXXT 3 years. I know trading my Z won't be part of the package. I will be looking for a
1. Used GT-R.
2. The BRZ refresh with turbo engine???
3. A used EVO MR
4. Genesis coupe redesign
5. Camaro redesign?
6. 5.0 redesign?
7. Used R8 if they hit the sub 60k price range???

One of these cars will be my next after I turned my Z into a TT, 500rwhp A7 with a 100 shot of "the juice".
