Had no idea you had a Subaru, i got a 98 Legacy I picked up for the winter.... A ton of value I got out of it btw from both day of snow so far LOL

Thank you. I have no idea how many miles as it only has a 5 digit odometer and I know its history only from the last 10 years or so. I have personally put about 100,000 on her and my guess is she has more than 300,000.

It's awesome how long these cars can last if they're properly maintained and cared for. Have you owned any other Z's other than the 240, 280, and 370?

Yes. 280zx's, 300zx, other 240z's, Roadster ('67 1600), etc.

Titan1080 01-26-2012 11:51 PM

My Z has become a fair-weather driver for me, wasn't the case as much when I first bought it (at the end of December!). It has to be dry for at least a day and above freezing this time of the year for the Z to leave the garage. A 2004 Titan gets the vast majority of the driving duties from about November to March, even though the gas mileage pretty much sucks. At the time I bought the Z, I also had a 77 Triumph TR7 that was a bit of a garage queen until I got rid of it, my fondness for British Leyland was quite thoroughly tested by that TR7 coupe as well as the TR7 drophead before it, I'm thinking an older TR6 might have been a better option...

I got 270,000+ miles out of my 280Z. I doubt it had another 270K unless somebody went through it thoroughly. I even wore out the door locks.

I loved my G but I just don't care for the lines of the newer model which is why I got the Z. I also can't afford my 2nd car to cost the same as my current one. :ugh2:

I too like the G35C over the G37C. But I do like the G37 sedan more than the G35 sedan.

2011 370Z Sport Pkg, mine currently 1057 miles
2000 Prelude, mine currently 55,000 miles
1966 Chevelle SS396, mine summer cruiz, show etc.

wow, nice line up!

i use to have 4 cars too but with kids and stuff i couldn't use the cars enough individually so decided to run 3 cars. :p for example my 8yr old G just turned 29K miles this week. my 2.5yr old 370Z has 8K miles. hardly enough deserved motoring time.

dweedlebug 01-27-2012 10:53 AM

I'm in the rust belt and drive an '02 Sentra during the winter.

Infamous QR25DE motor that likes to eay butterfly screws and have the pre-cat break up and get inhaled into the motor. The long block was replaced at 60,558 for a thrown rod.

I give Nissan credit though. I was out of warantee and they flipped the whole bill.

Thanks we have some of the same issues. I had thought about selling the Prelude to add something else but it has been a great car. We need to add a truck of some type. Its for those what if's around the house etc. I have been looking but the weather here in KC/KS has been so mild this year I have held back. I will need to do something soon. Maybe a clean looking beater type truck. If their is such a thing?

Yes. Have a couple of people at work buy just such a thing. I work in Olathe. One of them has a F150 with 120,000 which looks like it has 20,000 miles and runs like it also.

yah, i could really use a wagon or something sometimes. i go to my local music store to buy something for my instrument, i cant even carry it home in my G. or to homedepot... no go. can't even buy window blinds without measuring if i have enough space. gets old real quick. :ugh2:

so recently i just wait till the weekend and use my Fit. my wife uses the Fit during the week and she hardly uses on the weekends so it works out for us. :p

My 2nd car

I thinned my herd when buying the Z. Sold my GMC Typhoon and Porsche 944 so I could focus my garage time on bike builds.

Yeah, but one thing to keep in mind is the underside of anything driving during the winter around here. This area is so bad about what they treat our roads with during the winter. A clean looking 120,000 mile plus year/ model used driver that has not had a treatment of undercoating etc. can easily be a clean looking rust bucket. I have been online of and on looking in areas of Texas & Oklahoma for a clean driver. :tiphat:

My 2nd car = Nissan Frontier

USINC97 01-29-2012 12:53 PM

2nd and 3rd cars. 09 Cube and 11 Fusion.

OnceSolemn 01-29-2012 01:24 PM

About to buy a Z (waiting for it to arrive at the dealer). Keeping my '04 Mazda 3 hatch, because I feel like I'll regret making my only car a 2 seat convertible. I'll use the 3 when I need the space, or when I go to more questionable parts of town.

dmatt 01-29-2012 02:47 PM

Second car is wifes, another Z of course
