What's all the discussion for

You cannot just "pull...the...fuse" if you cannot get the unit to unlock after failing, esp if you didnt know this was a common issue BEFORE having the problem...

It seems that a contributing factor is the number of cycles that the lock mechanism has gone through which certainly makes sense. The older the car, the higher the chance of failure. If you were aware that it might fail and you didn't perform one of the preemptive fixes like removing the fuse or spending $50 for the bypass harness you could have saved $1200 and the aggravation.
If you were completely unaware of the problem until it happened, you have our condolences.

Completely unaware

Wat?

I am so glad that I did one of the fixes so I don't have to worry about it any more. I always hate seeing people adding to this thread :shakes head: so disappointing that Nissan won't do there own fix...........well actually I guess they did since they removed the lock all together on the newer models.

Sorry to the people still dealing with this BS.....

u are correct.. after its broken u can't. that's y i keep telling people to just pull the fuse now. idk why there is all this discussion about upgrading to "rev LMNOP" or cutting wires or any of that. simply pulling the fuse solves the problem before there are any issues. if its already locked then it doesn't matter at that point

Just out of curiousity...are there any other issues you guys may know about on the 370 that I may encounter?

Absolutely Agree...I have about 9K miles on my 2009...Still under warranty and I just went ahead and installed the By Pass Harness. The lock is obviously a problem that Nissan refuses to acknowledge. At that point, you need to take action yourself.
