True, stranded is no good. A few of my 240's used to love simply quitting, at speed, due to difficult-to-track-down electrical gremlins. The last time was a few years ago on 405 south near the 101 merge. In the car-pool lane around noon, I watched the tach drop to zero. It is large giggles coasting across 4 lanes of LA traffic to the shoulder at around 65 mph. BTW -- I will never ever purchase anything again from Mallory.

...not for Z's they can't. The dual point centrifugal only advance are awesome -- right up to the point that they decide their lives are meaningless and they take the coward's way out by self-destructing.

So my 09z got the flatbed ride to the dealer last week for the steering column sensor lock failure. As luck would have it they had the parts and I was driving it home that night. I spoke with the service manager at the dealership and he said there is nothing he can do since it was past the 36K warranty period. He did suggest I call Nissan consumer affairs and speak with them. Has anyone done this with any success? The manager made it sound like they would quietly take care of this issue but I should know in 48 hours. I'll post the results but if anyone called and had success I'd like to hear about it. $1100 back in the bank would be a nice X-mas gift from Nissan.

Please call!! Tell them that's its on all 09/10 370Z's, and that Nissan should recall the part! They did it in the 09 GTR's. below is a link to a thread that has really good information you can use. Tell me how it goes and whether they cover for you. I think I have a case against Nissan - Steering lock fuse |
