I got a call this morning from my Nissan dealer telling me the part has arrived. I am waiting until Monday to take her in for the repair because Mondays are when the paintless dent guy is in and I am getting that annoying little dimple in my roof removed at the same time.

They also confirmed that the mechanism is Rev D.

They are one week ahead of schedule also.

Hrm, I'm wondering if I should remove all my bolt ons and get this taken care of. I figure best to take it in at stock then have the dealership have my mod's on record to throw in my face in case I need to take it back in later on for some warranty work. Any advice guys?

My Z is modified and they give me no grief about it.

Congrat Mr.onzedge!! No more waiting.

But it doesn't mean you'll stop shopping goodies for the Z, right?

I had the same failure this weekend. My local dealer said my car was the second 2010 nissan that weekend to experience the steer lock assembly failure. The other was an Altima. He also said there was no recall "yet" and gave me the number to Nissan customer service to request that Nissan cover the cost of repairs, about $990. I'm sending Nissan and email and also a letter.
