So -- the dreaded dead Z strikes!!!!

I got in my car this afternoon to go to a client site and NOTHING happened when I pushed the start button. I strongly suspect the steering lock mechanism is the culprit as it has all of the symptoms other members have elaborated upon. I had a key light glowing bright, mocking me as I cursed the gods and called for a tow.

gurneyeagle 01-19-2012 07:49 PM

Hang in there Mr. Onzedge. :hello:

FL 4Motion 01-19-2012 07:50 PM

damn man, sorry to hear, hope they get her back up and running asap.

Trips 01-19-2012 07:52 PM

Sorry to see that :(

But At least there's not a guess of whats wrong :ugh2:

I've only racked up about 16k on mine since May of 09 and it only failed to start one time so far. I'll see how long my luck will hold out

Cmike2780 01-19-2012 07:54 PM

This is making me worried and paranoid. I really wish Nissan would do a recall already

happytheman 01-19-2012 07:56 PM

mr.onzedge- oh craps! :( did you not try tapping at the steering lock per my DIY??

happytheman 01-19-2012 08:19 PM

Is it confirmed as a steering wheel lock issue?

No -- just an educated guess based on what I have read. I delivered it to the dealer about 430 PM today and too late for anyione to look at it yet.

i see... :( sorry to hear and see.

if the dealer tells you they are back ordered for a long time, i would ask them if they can tap at the lock and to get it to start. chances are you can still use the car while you wait for your lock to come in.

courtesyparts.com has them in-stock as of today still... GL!!

Makes me happy i purchased an extended warranty today at my dealership.
I'm at 35,500. got it for 120 down and 59 a month for 18 months. good until
75,000. they even threw in a years worth of free oil changes every 3500 miles. i figure by 75,000 it will be trade in time.. i just wanted the peace of mind..........................

make sure those are in stock before you order though. most dealers (higher priority) appears to be waiting approx 2-3wks.

Waiz 01-20-2012 12:10 AM

Ohhh no!

This blows :(

canes7 01-20-2012 06:49 AM

I sure am sorry for your woes Mr. OnZedge! I hope you vehicle is returned to you soon and in good working order.

One question, does this problem effect all 370's or is it just the '09's and '10's?
