They all look good to me.

The funny thing is, the most common model is the 40th Anniversary...

There's three times more 40ths than the next closest thing. Good thing I didn't get one; they're a dime a dozen!

1 of 29...not bad.

Thanks for doing this. I was trying to get this info from Nissan about 6 months ago and they told me they didn't have the information.

Every model 370z over the past 3 years is still not enough to be called a dime a dozen. The 40th even less. Any color make or model. Our cars are not commonplace in every city or town.

Of course not. :) I don't think I've ever seen a 370Z in Bend, except at the dealer. I'm sure there are a few around, but they're extremely rare here.

What I was saying is actually true though. The 40th is the most common color/option combo.

But they are still badass! You are in a league of your own when you have a 40th imo

I could probably get some kind of number, but I'm not sure how accurate it would be. My data includes cars from some other US regions like Guam, and some cars that look like they weren't built for resale. Since there is no "build number," I'd basically just have to sort them by production month and VIN number and count up.

It was easier for the 40th Anniversary cars since I was easily able to identify the 1000 that were built for the US...

Thanks for keeping me regret free. I had a chance to get one (40th) but the 10th Anniversary model stuck in my memory and I avoided the 40th. But who wants a common one any way. :nutswinger:

Anybody want help share the cost and split a dozen with me. :icon17:

Thanks for the reply back. Would have been fun to know your cars individual finished prduction number. We appreciate the information you have provided to date. Again great stuff. :tiphat:

UNKNOWN_370 01-29-2012 12:21 PM

Its funny that when I was shopping Z's throughout the 2011 year. I saw soooo many GM colored cars on lots. I have yet to see another GM on the road. I see plenty of white and black. Then a lot of red and silver and black cherries. No GM, no blue, no yellow, very little PG, no 40th, that's here in dallas-fort worth area.

eggerstout 01-29-2012 02:37 PM

2011 monterrey blue base/sport 1 of 17, last visit to the dealership they had another 2011 monterrey blue base/sport and in Iowa, kinda sucks

dirtrat 01-29-2012 04:33 PM

I never could understand this? Whats so special about them? I didn't get one on purpose and instead bought a 2011. Is it because of the badges and different interior color? Please explain the attraction?

Yeah, you get a special color, both exterior and interior, red brake calipers, and darker wheels. I can definitely see the attraction. One of the main deterrents for me was that you couldn't get the nav system in the US. It's a nice exclusive edition, but not for me.

Its a anniversary addition! Something commemorative and special. I didnt have the option of getting one when I was buying a Z, and I have no regrets. Still happy with my red 2011.

Hey guys, I updated the lookup utility to be able to lookup specific VINs and return some additional information. One of the fields I discovered appears to be the destination port where the car was originally shipped, but I don't know what all the codes mean. If you know where your car was shipped, let me know what your code means.

I *think* I have these figured out:

ELZ - Wellsville, NY
GUM - Guam
HNL - Honolulu, HI
JAX - Jacksonville, FL
LOS - Los Angeles, CA

NNS and PLT are the biggies I'm not sure about... There are a few others too...

Thanks!

SS66 02-01-2012 09:22 AM

Thanks Vince. I looked my 2011 up with your link. My car came in at the LOS port. Then the car was transported to the Continental Nissan dealership in LaGrange, IL. I found the car online and flew from Kansas City to Chicago to buy the car and drove it back to Kansas City. I could not to save myself get a good deal with any Nissan dealerships in KC/KS or KC/MO.

tr0n 02-03-2012 11:34 PM

I'm assuming the 2012 statistics will come out later? I'd like to see how rare my car is for 2012 models. :) I'm picking up my 2012 Z very soon.

I'll try, but I can't make any guarantees. At this point, I have the latest data I can find.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. After doing my own research the 2011 production ended sometime between July and September. I'm thinking maybe you can't access any more up to date numbers because that's where 2011 ends and 2012s pick up.

Here's a link to my old thread about total world wide numbers. I haven't updated it in a while though. Perhaps I should.

Awesome tool! My car is one of 27 for model year 2009. Neat!

houkouonchi 02-23-2012 06:35 AM

AWESOME job. REP'd. Here is my 370z info:

VIN: JN1AZ4XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Model Year: 2010
Production Month: 0510
Series: Z34
Model: GLSALTYZ34EUA-----
Color: RAE - Monterey Blue
Interior: G - Black
Body: Coupe
Grade: Base w/Sport
Engine: VQ37VHR
Transmission: 6MT
Navigation: N
Destination: LOS
Manufacturing Plant: M - Tochigi

Only 33 of this config. This was the exact config I wanted and other than the one that was only 20 miles away from where i live the next one was like 350-400 miles away:

Series Year Color Interior Body Grade Trans Navi Count
Z34 2010 Monterey Blue (RAE) Black (G) Coupe Base w/Sport 6MT N 33
Total 33

About as rare as I expected. I really count my lucky stars for being able to find one at a dealer only 20 miles away who was actually willing to deal.

The BlueMax 02-23-2012 04:10 PM

Great Production Number

I used your tool & found out that I have one of 114 Blue coupes with the sport package and M6 from 2009, Thanks

Possibly, but I think I've found some 2011 VINs searching around on the tubes that I didn't have in my data... I don't think I'm missing a ton, but I'm guessing production goes closer to September.

If this tool is correct My Z is 1 of 35 for its model year and 1 of only 116 total for
all model years.
Seems my car with the options i have is rare. Who knew.

Yep, I think we are all finding that out. It now makes sense why it took me so long to find a 7AT Blue Touring Sport Package. There weren't many of them made!

Nick911sc 02-24-2012 02:07 PM

Funny because my car is 1 of like.. 336. Not super rare, but clearly popular lol

Red__Zed 02-24-2012 02:08 PM

My car was 1/15 for 09

1/19 across all years.

I haven't seen another combo that rare yet :icon17:

AlphaSnacks 02-24-2012 02:19 PM

1 of 36 for 2010. 1 of 48 in total.

Black Cherry, Black Interior, 6MT, Sports + Touring + Navi. The Persimmon interiors are probably the rarest cars.

That's pretty damn rare. Explains why this car was tracked down about 500 miles away from me in Niagara Falls when I bought it.

houkouonchi 02-24-2012 02:21 PM

The most common Z configuration ever?

Pearl White
Coupe
Base
7AT

520 (all production years)

901 if you don't specify transmission =P

Hawk6 02-28-2012 09:53 PM

Vince,
Great tool! I just got mine not too long ago. 2012 black cherry touring with sport and navi black suede/leather interior 7at and would love to find out how many are like mine as I have not seen another anywhere. I was told they are pretty rare when I got it. Your 2011 stats show only 22 in US. Any ideas how many may have been produced for US in 2012? Love to hear from ya. Thanks

+1 btw
