I know this is 370z vs BRZ, but I think we have to throw in the FR-S to the mix as well, seeing as how it shares the platform. Toyota developers have said on countless occasions that this car is set up to evoke the rear-drive Carolla 86 from back in the day, which has been used for some time now as a successful drift platform. In which case, this car feels more like a Syliva/240SX competitor to me than a 370z-fighter. Price, power, weight, power-to-weight, the fact it has back seats (regardless of how useful they might be)... all these facets are significantly different. Obviously, Nissan doesn't have a new Sylvia on the horizon, but the only thing that's REALLY similar between the Z and FT-S/BRZ is the fact they're all rwd. Unless I'm missing something, that seems to be it.
