Everyone knows the 7AT is 5 seconds quicker on the 1/4 mile. Nissan just doesn't market that because the 6MT folks would cry.

Seriously though, seems like a VDC issue to me...

370z Nismo- 0-60 in 4.5sec, 1/4 at 13sec
370z 7sp- 0-60 in 4.5sec, 1/4 at 12.9sec
(according to 0-60 times website)
I don't like my 7sp because of no fun driving but kind of like it because it's fast!
