More thoughts on the 7AT from a future buyer...

What pdf is that...can you link it please. I know the 7AT also has a variable locking torque converter but I'm not sure how that helps drivability.

I wasn't able to find info on the full lock up. But here is info about the new 7 speed.

Uhh, no. You're taking my use of the word "internally" at face value, notice I specified dimensionally first - because if they were internally identical, then it'd still be a 5 speed, which we know isn't the case. I also mentioned that the gears are clearly different, and wouldn't be surprised if some components were stronger. Regardless, I have no doubts that they are very very similar in many ways.

So you want to think that the 7 speed and 5 speed are nearly identical because they share similar model names, share the same oil pan, and bolt onto the same engine. But you want to overlook how the transmissions have a different case and internals? Well I'm done with this thread, happy holidays everyone.
