um another guy had that problem a few days back, its just becuase the battery was disconnected and just needs a simple reset i think... just a sec i'll see if i can find it for ya, its in the manual but i'll try to find the thread for you.....
edit: found it, this should fix your problem click here hope that helps and glad you got your steering play problem fixed, if you get time you should post some pics of your aftermarket leather.
