I doubt anyone leaned up against only the door in jeans seeing how noone is ever around it except myself and I dont wear jeans.

The marks arnt really bad, in fact it probably isnt even noticable to those who dont know it's there. I somtimes cant see it even when I'm looking for it.

Unless you have a wierd alternate personality, it sounds like this happened when you weren't around (parking lot...?). That fact that you don't wear jeans or didn't see anyone around doesn't really sound relevant.

That said, I was just suggesting an explanation, but hey it's your ride.

If the marks are "rough" like you say, then you most likely won't be able to restore it back to it's original form. Your best bet may be to just leave it be, as any kind of scratch remover or abrasive may make it worse.

They dont feel rough they just look rough. Just running my finger over it the finish still feels smooth.

They're not all metal, only a heavy plate. Besides, the plating material isn't ferrous so magnets won't tell you anything. There are primers that stick well to metal, so painting shouldn't be a problem.
