Ok, Im sitting in my Z and removing the knob was a cake walk. Took about 2 min. Im currently looking at this spacer, about to remove it. Boy the camera on my Droid impresses me.

Yes I have removed the spacer before the install. I will try the o ring option but I feel like I shouldn't have to use the o rings to have proper fit. I feel like I have a flawed piece. Is this the issue with everyone else?

If you feel that you have received a defective piece, we can most definitely replace it with another one. We have installed a dozen of our knobs on the shop car and cannot replicate the problem you are having.

If this issue is not common with everyone else than I would like to receive a new piece. I also noticed that when I install the knob all the way down the logo is upside down and I cannot torque it down any further. And when I place the logo to face the right way the knob is completely loose.

That is what the included loctite is for.

apply a decent amount of loctite on the shifter's threads on one side (dont need to put a huge amount), thread in the knob, get the pattern to your preferred angle, and let it dry over night. should work just fine. :)

i like my shift pattern slightly facing the driver side. :p

kenchan 12-16-2011 02:31 PM

yep, loctite will fix that. if you want to physically torque it down you can add spacers on the shaft side to get it pretty close and let the loctite do the rest, etc.

there's ways around this.

kenchan 12-16-2011 02:34 PM

alchemy- while you have the boot loose can you take a pict of the ring inside the boot how it's mounted to the tip of the boot? i want to shave some of the plastic off or replace with another conal spacer to rid the step between the knob trim and the slope of the boot. (no mt fuji look) :p
