im okay with ABS or watever plastic in black for the brake ducts since we can't really see it too.

but the rear diffuser i'd like it to be CF for sure since my other bits are CF. :yum:

I'd like to see a shift knob like your current version with the shift pattern on it (or an insert that fits in the current one, which I own and like).

And yes Ken, I know where the gears are! (just a preemptive strike ;-)

haha, imagine wat would happen if the decorative pattern plate spun by accident while you were shifting? :icon17:

i suppose a brass version in matte black with titanium colored base ring and decorative cap would be cool too. :)

Ah totally, so no more 'waiting on someone to come over so we can test fit the parts' problem

Better question would be: "what if i go there and and they are chopping the shop car with a chainsaw"

Then... I dont know...:wtf2:

Actually that reminded me of an event that happened a couple years ago. I went to a shop in LA to do some test fitting and i saw the people in the shop cutting down the pillars of a what i believe to be a celica, turning it into a convertable but..... Without reinforcing the frames :shakes head:

SPOHN 11-09-2011 04:11 PM

I hope this goes threw. Nobody is doing anything. Scared of taking a chance I guess. Which I feel these two products would sell though.

That would be great!!!! Though the CF would be better for guys like you:tup: How about black generic ABS(for the Alchemy's and Spohn's) or a CF option (for the Kenchan's);)

anthonyy 11-09-2011 04:35 PM

not sure if that has been added yet - got my panties in a bunch when I saw the question:

carbon fiber post maf tubes

FL 4Motion 11-09-2011 06:34 PM

1. functional brake ducting, if it requires cutting holes in the front bumber ala the 370 nismo RC car, that's fine as long as it works and the cutout cover is CF (like those cutouts people do to their bumper for air intakes that have the CF piece covering the cutout)

2. Functional carbon fiber or kevlar intakes. As long as they can provide equal or better #'s than post maf tubes and drop ins, I'd be sold.

PasswordJDM 11-09-2011 07:15 PM

Just finished speaking with our composites engineer - Brake ducts will be in the works. We have a non-Nismo bumper on order with Nissan so we can mock up both Nismo, and non Nismo brake ducts.:tup:

:tup:Make it happen. If the price is right Im all over these. We were discussing materials previously. What do you guys think you would go with??

NoirG 11-09-2011 07:33 PM

We mainly deal with carbon fiber and carbon kevlar, so more than likely its going to be both of those. We might be able to offer a fiberglass version in the future to get the cost down if needed, but we should be able to offer in carbon at a competitive price.

phelan 11-09-2011 07:52 PM

I would do a hood design honestly, but the market is a bit saturated, and hood replacements aren't even popular on the 370Z. Maybe later...:p

Yeah, figured this would be the case. Hope to see this product come to the market:tup: Good luck.

SPOHN 11-09-2011 07:56 PM

Will this product work with different types of body/ lip kits?

Exactly! Glad to see that you are making these and I am interested in getting some eventually, but only if the price is right.

UNKNOWN_370 11-09-2011 08:23 PM

Yes I have to agree on a functional diffuser. Definately, we are short on choices in the functional diffuser dept.

I met ResIpsa at an AutoX event here in MD and he was telling me how he made his own functional rear diffuser and front splitter out of fiberglass. Here are pics of both:

yah, i think passwordjdm prides itself in cosmetically artistic pieces as well as function.

CF for brake ducts is fine by me. :p

Something like that for a nismo would be sweet.

ron- someone already tried pulling from the fang area and it netted higher temps at the caliper/brakes after a track run than without the porting at all. the port needs to feed from the bottom.
