Here in Pittsburgh, it's cold, dark and rainy. Car was garaged for the winter this past weekend. Hurry April...

cossie1600 10-27-2011 09:36 PM

My car is in CT inside the garage, luckily I am not. It was 70 degrees outside here this afternoon at the beach

They are calling for some light snow saturday just in time for the planned cruise a couple of us mid-atlantic members were looking forward to through some scenic roads...

There goes that... :(

Anyone really use the Z on a daily even through harsh conditions like ice, snow, sleet, freezing temps. I live on Long Island and it can get reallllly bad from about Dec to March.

Vaughanabe13 10-28-2011 08:42 AM

I had a layer of frost on my maxima that was sitting out last night. No snow here yet but it's looming.

However, as sad as I am to garage the Z, I'm just as happy for SNOWBOARDING SEASON!

Got a set of base wheels with BLizzaks for the winter. Works a treat. Yes, you can easily pop the rear end loose with power, but the sport package LSD is actually useful in winter driving. I'd NEVER use the stock sport tires in the winter. Even in colder weather the tires lose their stick as the tread gets hard. I nearly spun mine first year I owned it at 30 degrees F coming aggressively through a roundabout on dry pavement -- a turn I regularly take for granted. It's not just the tread pattern, but the tread compound that makes winter tires a necessity here in the Northeast USA.

Hope this helps...

6MT 10-28-2011 10:54 AM

We're expecting snow tonight here above 53 degrees N Lat.

Z is going into hibernation =(

PapoZalsa 10-28-2011 11:19 AM

54ºF and rain forecast for the whole weekend here in my area.

Pelican170 10-28-2011 11:22 AM

Yup, i still need to give it 1 more wash before i put it away for the winter. Not doing that in 40 degree weather! Im banking on a warm spell in a week or two!!

kenchan 10-28-2011 11:35 AM

the bottom temp i wash my car is 35F. im wearing full gear though with rubber gloves, snow pants, jacket, etc so im not cold at all...actually i get pretty hot with all that on. :D

i found that at temps around ~ 33-34F, when wind picks up the water freezes on the panels. lol

We might get some very light flurries saturday but nothing that should stick.
