From what I can tell this is pretty much the standard now. Every auto company uses such thin paint that just about any level of driving will result in tons

So whats the answer? Ask the paint shop to add anothe coat to your car???

Brittle paint

Since August of 02 when I took delivery of my 03 350 I have noticed chips in areas that I have never seen on any new car I have purchased since 1964. That and the bug kills that just sink into the paint on all of the new cars are ridiculous. But the body shops just love it.
