Q for those that have driven the car for a while now with Synchro Rev

Well for me I feel the surge also, but from what I understand the rev matching I think is for downshifting and then accelerating not downshifting and slowing down. So when you downshift the rev match is thinking you are going to take off so it makes the RPMs a little higher, but if you downshift and let the RPM settle then let out the clutch you wont feel the jolt. Good example at a stop light take off hard switch gears at say 6000k into 2nd but dont punch it just let the clutch out you will feel the car jolt forward with the rev match on. Then turn it off and do the same and you should not feel the jolt.

Uh, the revmatch feature only works on upshifts if you give the RPM time to fall. If you go into 2nd from first at 6000 rpm and don't wait, of course you're going to feel a jolt.. with the feature on or off.

Guys, trust me, it doesn't do it perfect, the surge is there on a downshift. I agree with ^ about maybe it was setup to accelerate once you downshift, because that is what it feels like. It is probably due to the heavy flywheel. In another thread, travis is putting a new lighter flywheel in, it will be interesting to see if it goes away. I can say this, it bothers me.

If you read what I said, it makes the most sense out of anything anyone has said so far. I seriously doubt nissan set it up to accelerate directly upon downshifting, as many times you downshift through several gears, or don't need/want to accelereate right away.

Mine works perfectly, and I have no complaints. Can you post a YouTube video so we can see it?

No video capability, and you wouldn't be able to see it in a video. It is very small, and most people probably won't notice it. I am probably more anal than most on car feel, as I have conducted test driving with tire and auto companies, and have a good feel for a car - as well as have driven race cars for 15 years. My wife won't feel what I feel, as she will think it is just her method of downshifting. But, if you shift 100 times a day, like I do going to/from work, I can feel it. After a while it gets old, and doesn't seem normal - never have I driven a car that does this.

I actually have the opposite problem. The RevMatch usually puts my RPMs slightly below where they need to be. We're talking about 50-75RPMs or so, it is not too noticeable.
