On a serious note, when I went to a dealer to buy gold coins, I learned about how gold can be weighed and measured to ensure that it is legit. Apparently no other metal has the exact density of gold, so if a coin is actually gold, it will have a precise weight related to its circumference and thickness. I guess they do the same thing with nuggets, although that would seem to be a bit more difficult, due the irregular surface/sizing. |
Pay off my Z and my wife's BMW and put the rest in the bank for a down payment on a new house.

2012 Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe, mod the **** out of it... bank the rest.
|
Blow a few thousand on strippers, another $2k on whiskey and about $10k living in Europe for a few months. I would save the rest. :D

|
I would buy a snickers bar.:roflpuke2:
|
I would give some (about 10 to 15k) of it to the hospital near my house they seem to need help. Then I would save most of it (50-60k) and invest some in stocks. and then from what I have left I would spend on the Z.
|
I would give my 10% to the man above and then put the rest towards my recent investments.

GT-R black edition in silver. Hell yes!
|
I would use it towards building a new house the way the wife and I want it, and rent out the house we own now. Probably save a chunk towards the next Z and bank the rest.

liquor and hores, cigeretts and dope and mustard and bologna
( any trailer park boys fans out there?) |
Car: GT-R
If no car, take 10K for fun money, trip, etc. Leaves 90k, take about 50k and structure a bond ladder (40k left), 10k for my chick to sit on (30k left), 20k for some long term investments (10k left) and 10k for some short term (not day) trading. If no investing and no car, I'd hit up vegas for a weekend try to double or triple it. |

However, it is in theory possible to defeat the density method. Most of the metals denser than gold are also pretty rare and hard to come by. But, for example, you can buy Iridium at somewhere around half the price of gold, and since it's slightly denser, you'd just need to mix it with something lighter (or drill a few holes) to make a mostly-Iridium object seem to have the same density as gold. Perhaps if you encased it in an outer layer of actual gold, nobody would notice unless they somehow scanned the inner structure with pretty advanced instruments (or cut or melted the object).
It would take a lot of up-front capital to pull off a scam like that with any chance of success. |
