I am sure it helped, but not sure if it was a difference maker

Wow this thread is still open. Sigh.

Pretty big oversight on Nissan's part, and then to continue to do nothing=sales will plummet, confidence will drop, jokes will be made and people will laugh or cry depending on what you drive.

The 370Z is pure sex! It is hot, loud, and rough!

Dude, come on... really? You comin on here talking like C&D is the holy grail of performance reviews. They're barely respected anymore. The weaknesses are true and clearly sstated but the opinions are based on BS comparisons. Besides, anyone on here that's going to do anything on a high performance level is going to buy new pads, lines, rotors and oil cooler... then follow it up with new intake or filters, exhaust, oil cooler, tranny cooler and reflash.

We Z enthusiasts opt not to buy a suped up rattling econobox with overblown turbos and low end recaro seats to look the part and then spend on an intake, BOV, ECU tune and wastegate, call it a day and pretend you did somethin!

Here we gotta start from scratch. Build up little by little. We have guys on here are spending in the high 5 digits in mods. And when guys want a serious project they are buying Z's and GTR's. The EVO'S a great kids car that does big things on a low budget. That's great, but don't get it twisted.
And you will probably take shots that a good number of members don't even mod or track. Well, the Z has a mixed group of enthusiasts with different interests. Some just love the heritage or handling. Some just love buying a high quality car at a low price. And those members need not worry about any possible malfunctions that have occured at near top speeds.

Now the evo has some expensive parts, yes. Some parts are just made to look expensive. But most of the car is shakes, rattles and rasps. Our guys here take pride in the process of taking part in every aspect of engine modification. The EvO is the entry level quick fix to modding.

Apparently it's still read and respected enough to get everyone here worked into a froth. If the Z would have won this comparo I highly doubt you'd be ranting about their irrelevance.

I liked my Z a lot, but the coarse engine and endless road noise were enough after almost two years. I would have hoped that I could take my sports car with the "sport package" to a track day now and then without spending another $1000 or more to you know, actually use it at the track without the brakes failing or going into limp mode. The freakin Mini owners can do that.

You do realize that your almost 3700 pound EVO only beat the Z in the Slalom???? The Z braked better, put a better time around the track, and held better skidpad numbers. I agree the Z should not have oil temp issues, but the EVO had tranny overheating issues. Can you explain that??? You cant. Every car has its problems, luckly the Z's problems can be fixed real easy not sure about the EVO.

Oh and IBTL LOL.

FromG2Z 09-08-2011 08:17 AM

when you get EVO trollers who simply join our forum to rant incessantly about how they "think" their "sedan" is better than our Z, it's time to close the thread. I read about 10 posts from hooligans with 1 - 5 posts just chiming in with 1 or 2 sentences of mindless rubbish.

AK370, PLEASE CLOSE THIS THREAD.

I don't neccesarily agree with everything you say, but damn it's good to finally have someone else understand this.

edub370 09-08-2011 08:59 AM

 C&D reviews. Turning grown men into squabbling teenagers for over 30 years :rofl2:
