Ya that spare key is just doing nothing i replaced the battery inserted it in the "fobgina" and still it says no key. maybee that thing is bad. does anyone

Ya that spare key is just doing nothing i replaced the battery inserted it in the "fobgina"
 and still it says no key. maybee that thing is bad. does anyone know how much a new key is? Can everyone else start there car with their spare fob, and does it lock or unlock. The guy i bought it from said it was a dummy maybee it just never woirked from the factory?
