most eople love the car but there are a lot of jealous retards. I hate when hicks drive by in trucks and give thumbs down

A lot of people have race car fanstasies. They imagine that they are driving a car that is meant for the podium...if they only drove on a track. Our Z's really do go on tracks and a lot of us run them regularly.
Even people who drive performance cars like Mustangs almost never put them in a real performance situation like HPDE. Hell, most Z's never see a track. So, say you drive a Camry XLE (you know, it has a docile 6, but hell it isn't a 4!) and imagine that with your 6, you have a fast car. Guaranteed that the Camry has never seen a track. Z's look fast, so seeing one will either generate some kind of anger or a desire to compete. Do these people also give Porsches the finger? I wonder. Nobody has flipped me off. I've had my Z for about a year and a half. But then I live in the Northwest where people tend to be polite and not inclined to do stoplight dragging. On the interstate I have had some close calls with SUV's attempting to merge into my lane while I am right next to them. That's probably not a desire to kill the Z but more that we are hard to see from way up there. |

When people act dumb next to me on the road, I just stare straight ahead (wearing dark sunglasses) you've just got to bada** them until they go away :) |

I just read all of these pages describing how people act toward your cars. Wow! See, I live in a small town in North Carolina and my Z is my DD. Prior to this I had a '07 350Z too and I have NEVER had ANY experience EVEN REMOTELY similar to what you guys are describing. I get nothing but complements.
BTW, when I'm not driving the Z... I AM THE REDNECK IN THE BIG DODGE 4WD PICKUP, but I would never hassle anybody because of what they drive. I guess people are just nice here. :tiphat: |
Minivans with $100 "Made in Third World Country" rims revving right next to me and trying to race :ugh2:

:icon18: Lots of those and the SUV's in SoCal area

make woman put tampon on car |
i have definitely noticed a difference driving the Z compared to my maxima. first day i had the car i noticed noone was letting me merge on the highway, i get cut out all the time... this morning this lady was tailgating me on my way to work blasting her horn at me as soon as a light would change green.. like milliseconds.. and when she passed me i got the death stare. i was like lady chill out.. it's 7am back off me i might accidentally roll back into u on this hill. but then theres a ton of people coming up to me at the gas stations who love it wanting to talk about cars n crap... one guy was like... what do they call that color?... um blue?
|
That is a big hell yeah....Hell the night I picked her up I had some punk 18yr old trying to race me, still had the temp tags on the car. It's even worse now with the turbo system. I don't get it.... :shakes head:
They really hate it when they see a dirty guy get out of the car (don't worry I've got seat covers, extra shoes...mud never gets inside or on the outside). That one kinda make me smile, expescially when a guy in a suit gets out of a POS honda and stares me down. I just laugh, buy my vodka and red bull and drive home(sober).:rofl2: |

I see idiot drivers pretty much daily in the Z. I try not to pay attention to them. Tailgaters, lane blockers, you name it. I probably come off as an a55 since I really try to mind my own business. Maybe I should try and not be so cynical driving the car around. :shakes head:
|
I experienced this when I first bought the Z, but I think like with everything you just become use to it. For me I went from getting no special attention in my old car, to a lot of people gawking/paying attention to my car when I bought the Z. Also my area doesnt have many Zs in the first place, so the rarity might have had something to do with it as well. As for attitude drivers and people acting up I have become immune to it now, and most people just give me a  now anyways most people around town know me as the "guy with the red Z". Although I had one guy ask "Yo, that you in that new ferrrari lookin ****, that **** is tuff." :bowrofl:

Just starting happening to me quite a bit the past week. People doing ricer flyby or gunning it past me while I'm cruising in 6th. O_o
|
Had a cop follow me for a few miles...I think he was amazed by the blinking fog lamp when I hit the brakes or it just confused him. I seen him pointing serveral times at it and talking to his partner.

I get the pull up next to me really fast, stare me down and take off for no reason. Never understood. Also I may add 350z drivers don't seem to be nice either. Seems like they are trying to always prove something while I'm trying to be friendly lol.

I was on my way to work one day and I was bout to get on the freeway and there's a parking lot for Jack in the Box and Dennys right by the on ramp and this lady (mid-late 40's) is waiting to pull out. There's a couple car lengths between me and the car ahead, but I wasn't speeding up to close the gap I wasn't in a hurry. So when I go by this lady she puts her window down and sticks her arm all the way out to flip me off?! Figuring she had a bad day (I work nights so it was around 4pm) I ignored it, BUT I didn't notice she pulled out behind me. So I get on the on ramp and look in my rearview and this lady is so close to my car I can't even see her hood?! :wtf: It is also a 2 lane on ramp so she is doing it on purpose now, so I brake checked her! Which was stupid cuz I put my car in danger! :eekdance: So as we continue onto the freeway with her riding my a$$, and as we merged and she merged over again and blows by me. She is also flipping me off again!!! I'm still dumbfounded by all this, and I'm watching her go by :shakes head: and there is a child in a car seat in the back no more than 3 if that!!!!!!
(Because of the child I regret brake checking her even more) |

Like a BAWS. |
I had a guy go off into the shoulder and cut me off cause he didn't like me passing him for going 15 below the speed limit.
On another note(not annoying), I was at a red light and I see two girls in a Mini Cooper behind me. One girl starts pointing at my car and makes shapes with her hand. I assume they were talking about my F.I. exhaust. They speeded up next to me when the light turned green and have me a wave. |
it annoys me to no end. saturday night this jackass in a scion XB was literally chasing me stuck to my a$$. just switched to the right lane, slowed down, and let him pass.
|
I have invidia test pipes on my Z and it makes a raspy noise at about 2600rpms (see 15mph). I was driving down Snug Harbor in Ocean City, which is just a row of boathouses with a paved 25mph road in between them. Some 40 something woman who happened to be out back yelled at me to slow down. I was doing 10 under the speed limit.
This happened at my old job in my 350z as well. It's like "Well I can't do anything about his car but I can take it out on him by telling him he drives unsafely" Also on the topic of 350'z, I have noticed that 9 times out of 10 they are the douchey middleground between older 300zx drivers and fellow 370 owners. I pulled into a car wash with 2 350z's and a G35 and you could cut the tension with a knife. Mind you they were all 16, 18 year old kids who opted for the Z instead of a brand new RSX. Good on them, btw. |
It was bad with the Z but it is absolutely terrible with the STI. everything from scion tc's to bmw 5 series try to race me. Almost every day someone tailgates me and then hauls a$$ around me. Im sure its because some people see the wing, have no clue what an sti is, and think its some slow rice lol

I will have to agree with the 350Z drivers though, they like to tailgate or do ricer flybys... :shakes head: |
Old Z28 Camaro with primered vented hood cut over and briefly gunned it next to me. I think the driver was humbled after I briefly off some steam in 2nd :)
A 3-series Bimmer with "B3" emblem and exhaust (O_o), speeds next to me on the right lane, then guns and narrowly cuts me over to the left turn lane. Yesterday, after passing through an intersection, I noticed from the rearview mirror a WRX driver nearly pwn'd himself after making a hard right. He over steered and the passenger front wheel briefly kissed the curb. I bet that woke him up. There's a driver of an old Buick that drives crazy regardless of what car you're driving. I was on the on the right lane at the light the other day, and he sped and made a right turn from the LEFT lane! It's probably from the nice weather we're having lately. |

Well aside from co workers and co haters calling my 370z a 350z or the little yellow car or a piece of **** when my car is clearly the nicest of all the vehicles in the parking lot litteraly its pretty much normal
|
I'm parked next to my husband's 350Z right now and I'm inside my car. Just had an SUV with two young guys pull up behind the cars, then to the front and start saying "that's what's up" and "daaammmmnnn". They left, came speeding back and parked next to my car, stared as if they wanted me to go race them and left. I'm taking it as a really creepy nod of approval.

:icon18: That's one creppy nod....Been told it was a chick car. Then I lit up the tires and it went from a chick car to suddenly a mans car the next time I seen them.:roflpuke2: Haters gonna hate

I am hated on sooo much in my 370! I am only 18 years old, so every time a 35+ year old person sees me, the instantly give me the death stare. I hate it because I know exactly what they are thinking to themselves: "look what mommy and daddy bought this kid". I PAY FOR MY OWN CAR! I can’t tell you how often I have to explain myself and how I pay for my own car, it drives me insane! People can’t handle their own jealousy so they automatically judge other people, it’s kind of sad really.
While I do drive rather aggressively on back roads and open highways, I never seems to shock me when people cut me off and purposefully won’t let me into lanes or automatically think I want to race.. and don’t get me started on the police haha |

More of the reactions I get are 100% positive. I get a lot of people waving, giving me thumbs up, etc. I do get the occasional people who want to prove they're faster than me but I really couldn't care less. I didn't buy the Z because I have something to prove. I bought it because it's a F!@#$ sexy ride. :)
