I have my car up in Michigan right now... where you are lucky to see an import once a week unless its a BMW. I get a lot of looks. Most i think are people just being like "what the hell is that" cause they've probably never even heard of Nissan :p
However, i pass by at least 50+ Mustangs a day and most of them give me the evil eye.... Oh and the other day i had a guy with one of those "Out of a job yet? Keep buying foreign" stickers on his car come flying up to the parking space next to me. Sat there till i got out of my car and then drove off a few isles down to park.... i think he just wanted me to see his sticker. |

I have had old an old guy at a light in a truck make a point to look my car up and down very deliberately, then look at me, and shake his head in disgust... i also live 2 miles from a ford plant, 10 miles from a gm plant, and in the midwest. if u aint gotta truck or a stang, you aint got nuttin boy! yeeeee haaaaw.... and before anyone gets butt hurt about my midwest bashing. i was born and raised here so dont get offended

I think they are just upset that they have the same car as everyone else on the road and that we have something different and more exotic/sexy looking. :p

damn haven't had anything like that around my area... just get a lot of people staring or pulling up RIGHT next to me at a light (driver to driver window) its a little annoying after a bit. Also SUV's tailgating me while driving or waiting to turn, I think they are trying to get me blinded by their lights but I have the touring package so their efforts are lost. :)
But I also live in close proximity to a naval base which equals an abundance of sport cars! |

I've received nothing but compliments since I got my Z 3 weeks ago from young guys, older guys, cute young chicks, almost everyone loves the Z.... Even having people yielding to let me go a head... Have only received "hate" from one category of people -- busted older women. Cutting my *** off (while I'm breaking my car in) tail gating, you name it... It's happened like 5 times already. Go figure, no one loves them, they love no one LOL

Yeah dam old women :roflpuke2:

Idiot drivers in Cadiallic Escalades turn right in front of you even though they see you coming. Then, they stop halfway in your lane and look at you.
Idiots. |

Off topic, but related to many posts here about american vs import made. I remember one time and friend of mine rented a Honda Accord while we were at Chicago for a convention. Since both of us were Asian, some dude in a Ford Mustang (new one) shouted "you're in the wrong area, go buy American."
Since my friend works for Honda corporate, he replied back "fucker, this car was made in Marysville, Ohio since the 80s. Your **** still get parts from China and Mexico." Both the mustang driver and I were stunned. |

http://insyncwiththecity.files.wordp...n-the-road.jpg I find advanced notice brake checks effective for me and it usually gets aggressive drivers off my bumper. You might get funny stares once in a while. |
I was cut off yesterday as two lanes merged in a bumper-to-bumper crawl by a woman in a Ford Expedition who was yacking away, both hands flailing, on her cell phone.
No more than 50 feet past the merge, she switched lanes. Dumb azz. |

You are the second member to report that same issue. Not sure why people would take the time and go out of their way to do that. Haters gonna hate!
|
Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's Southern California, but I don't get any of these 'haters' or feelings of jealousy from other drivers. I mean, really, we drive a Z. It's an introductory sports car. I see more 911 Turbos and GT3s than Z's. Why would somebody hate on a 35K car? Don't get me wrong, I love my car, but people here are too into themselves to care that I have a Z.
|
I think we should remember: it takes balls to drive a car like the 370z. The car doesn't care what other people think of it. Neither should you.
Of course it's human nature to desire what you don't or can't have. Respect is a positive result, jealousy or hatred is a negative result. |

Is there a universal Z sign for approval?
I ask because I was on the interstate the other day when heavily tinted & stickered 350Z caught up with me. They slowed down when he got next to me and gave me two quick revs (nice exhaust) then continued on his/her way at their original speed. I couldn't see if they were waving, thumbs-up, or giving me the finger because of the limo tint.:roflpuke2: I took it as a "nice Z" gesture. :tiphat: What do you think? :icon17: I've only had my Z for two weeks, but the stare-downs at lights are ridiculous. As bad as it was when I had my WRX. I have zero interest in racing, let alone street racing. I think every 18-24 year old in a Musamaro assumes that we're lined up for a drag race. :bowrofl: |
