it's about likelihood to file a claim, not driving skill. People doing well financially will replace stuff on their own dime, rather than file a claim (to avoid the increased premium)

Just got my renewal. About $690 per year, which includes a "curb weight to horsepower surcharge" of $105.

I have the last laugh...with my mods I should be paying a surcharge of around $125!
