Was looking to possibly buy a Shelby

Like the title says I was really considering in getting one so I brought the z in to see what they would give me for it. Well they offered me 25000. I lol and said no way. Guy was impressed with my car just wasn't sure what he could get for it so he had to play it safe. Ohh well if they would have offered 38000 I would have rolled with it and bought the Shelby

25k is actually a pretty good offer on your car from a dealer.

Take off the Tt sell it, then trade it in.

shaun66 07-26-2011 08:47 PM

Yeah I'm surprised they would even take it with a twin Turbo kit on it.

I'm with shaun and dan... $25k is a good dealer offer for a car like yours. I'm even surprised they were willing to make an offer for it.

Na didn't really care to sell it. Not like I had to have the Shelby just figured hey if they give me enough for the z then I would do it. Dealers will take anything remember alot of cars that a dealer accept never see the floor they auction them or whole sale them.

Red__Zed 07-26-2011 08:51 PM

I was offered 8k on my S, just to put things in perspective.

I find it no where near a good deal lol Not when kbb also says they recommend the dealer to give 30-32. Like I said car has 11400 miles touring sport navi and not even a scratch on the car but hey that's just me

m4a1mustang 07-26-2011 08:57 PM

KBB is always on the high side. When I traded my Z the market rate was around $26-27k for it, though KBB was saying 29k when that simply wasn't happening. I ended up getting $26,500 for it and that's exactly what the car sold for a few months later.

Hmm maybe so they were on with there price but I will hold on to it for 25k car. My car is faster then the Shelby and IMO has a more wow factor with appearance. Was just wanting to try something new and growth protential of the long run as far as hp would be greater with the Shelby.

If you wanted to get money out of your car as-is your only bet would be to sell it privately to an enthusiast who will put value on your mods. Otherwise you'd have to part it out as much as you can.

It's probably best you wait for the Shelby anyways. The 2013 refresh is due in spring of 2012 (Mustang model years start in spring, not fall) and it's due for some more power and some other tweaks. Might be worth the wait. During that time you might want to see if you can get any offers from private buyers.

Yea not a bad idea. I think the sales manager said they were looking to bump hp to like 650 or close to it. I kind of was expecting around 38k for I would be happy with that price since I think it is fair. Damn car is still practically brand new and still has new car smell lol.
