Airbag deployment alone is a few thousand, and that looks pretty deep into the engine bay. Like everybody else has said...totaled. Sorry! Hope you can replace it soon.

Very happy to hear you're okay though.

One of my friends crashed an 07 G into a gaurd rail and the rad was touching the engine but airbags did not deploy... insurance did not total the car :ugh2:

Like everyone else before me mentioned, with damage like that, we're just glad you're ok.

SPOHN 07-01-2011 01:17 PM

Looks worse than $9,000. Is this where gap insurance comes in handy? I do not have it myself.

TWYNBYZ 07-01-2011 01:39 PM

The title of the thread says it all. Glad to hear your OK. Good luck with your next car purchase!

DIGItonium 07-01-2011 01:47 PM

Sad to hear about the misfortune, but glad you're doing fine. Things do get squirrely when hitting standing water. Hope you'll be back on the road soon with a new ride!

mspaun3 07-01-2011 01:52 PM

As far as a next car, I would hope to get another Z, but kinda have to wait to see what Geico says. Adjuster is taking a look on Wed, so that will be interesting.

RCZ 07-01-2011 02:04 PM

Couldve happened to anyone man, also glad you're ok.

GAP insurance saved my *** when an uninsured redlight runner totaled my car. Would never go without it again. Although, it's cheaper to buy it through your own insurance company, or aftermarket than the **** the stealership offers you.

Bonzo 07-01-2011 02:31 PM

Ouch!!! :( That sucks. Sorry to hear about it.

The car may be scrap, but hey, you could get some coin for those wheels!!! I'm sure someone would love to have an extra set for winter tires.

Methodical4u 07-01-2011 02:33 PM

Yeah, for a hit like that it would be hard to believe that the entire car hasn't been crumpled all the way back.

Were you going pretty fast or no?

Montez 07-01-2011 02:51 PM

99% she is a goner, especially with the engine smashed up. A new engine alone is what 7 to 10 k new......not including all of that other frame, panels airbag etc. You will be in a another Z soon!
