This is my second "foreign car". Last car I owned was a 2007 Eclipse. Had it for about 8 months. Think I'll keep the Z much longer!
I have to say before I researched the 370Z, in my ignorance I thought the NISMO was some riced out car. After purchasing my Touring Z I can now appreciate the NISMO more, but I do see how the uninformed would think it was over the top.

the nismo is just riced out there are under 50 different parts from a sport package and you can build a better faster car than a nismo for less money.

And on another note the new way to rice out a car is to buy a dodge charger or ram and but hemi decals on it, when it only has a magnum. They are worse than the civic guys with that. Yea man it gots a HEMI... or not

This is what im talking about. Not sure how if u know cars u can call the nismo rice. I've yet to see a kit that is as clean as the nismo or that flows with the lines of the car. The amuse kit maybe but there are certain things I don't care for on it. RICE race inspired consmetic enhancements. The nismo is not that. Its all functional.

the problem is though, that the genarl "public" does not know the difference betweek a functional/ non functional cooling vent...

or that a spoiler serves function at higher speeds....

It was on the last page. Page 8. My point is I agree with you on the general public. But for a member on here who most of us who are car guys, to say the nismo is rice just blows my mind.

i have my thread setting set differently than you... for me this thread is only 4 pages, and your last comment is the middle/end of page 3.

anyway, i do not think the nismo looks riced at all. put it this way. i was at the NY auto show a couple years ago when the SuperVeloce lp670 lamborghini just came out, and a bunch of people there were calling it a RICED out lamborghini......:bowrofl:

Yeah, Lambos are rice. All those functional vents, big fat mufflers, gaudy bright colors...I could go on and on.

i have green neons in my ac vents.. i paid just a lil bit for the neons and tore my dash apart.. i think it looks amazing but as for under the car i agree totally.. but like everyone else had said its your money and it what you want to do to your car.

The NISMO is a very polarizing car. I own a 370Z and when the salesman tried to show me a NISMO they had, I sort of just laughed and said, "No thanks. That car is a little bit much for my tastes."

That said, when I was buying my NISMO OEM exhaust from a guy with a black one (I was driving my work car), some kind of redneck lady at this small town in central VA pulled up to comment on how totally awesome his car was.

I've gotten almost universally positive reviews on my car. I was at a gas station sort of in hicksville Maryland next to a friend who has a really clean white 335i and some dude in a giant pickup truck came over to tell us how totally awesome our cars were. He said, "Man, you don't feel inadequate very often driving a $55k truck but these cars are putting it to shame."

The only consistently negative comments I get are about the size of the exhaust tips on the NISMO exhaust.

It is, it just is. the base looks much better imo with just a simple kit, nothing fancy and i don't like most of the kits out for our cars (and they cost WAY to F'n much for a bit of poly or wet carbon. As for the "upgrades" with a nismo these get me WAY more than the looks. The 370z nismo is up there on my list of worst factory limited edition packages ever. I liked the 350 nismo at least it was different, seam welded, with real suspension, and engine changes(HR vs. DE is what you call an engine improvement not just an F'n exhaust). The 370 nismo was only made to trick people into buying it thinking it was the same bump in performance as the 350 nismo. It's all looks and appearance when compared to base +sport it has no balls. But to each his own if you want to pay 4k for a dash plaque be my guest.

Dude! At first when I started watching the two cars in the lot I was like those things are slow. But when I saw them run into each other I was like, I guess one doesnt need to be fast to smash ones car to hell. I hope they both are okay.
Changing topic what do you guys think about the Nismo graphics? 1 Is that rice, 2 not rice, or 3 its okay I guess.

I saw this thread and the first thing that came to mind is those stupid lowered cars with jacked up Camber, and then I come to the last page and yep, that's pretty much it...lol

I feel like the thread needs to be brought back alive, with all the stupid **** done to cars these days, and all of the pointless mods that exist but are still done in heaps :P
