What does your Z mean to you or represent?

Just like the title says, any special sentiment? I mean we all know the z is an amazing car. Just looking below the surface here. Looking forward to hearing responses.

EDIT: I don't think this is a repost, but i must admit i used the search and then only waded thru ten pages of threads. don't really want to go through all 100+

MacCool 06-19-2011 06:49 AM

I like any machine or product that accomplishes its purpose efficiently and with style and elegance. This Z has more than enough of both to satisfy me.

OldGuy 06-19-2011 06:53 AM

Elegance and affluence...

USMCASA 06-19-2011 07:39 AM

Not your average sports car :driving:

DrEvil 06-19-2011 08:28 AM

I put my kids through college and now it's my time.

:iagree:

Also represents working hard, and rewarding myself. Felt this way about all my other cars.

kdo2milger 06-19-2011 08:38 AM

exterior: the curves

interior: well...the interior is pretty sweet (pilot "like" cockpit).

under the hood: more hp and tq than my 04 MACH1 Mustang!

handling: like a slot car track!

nostalgia: hearkens the days of the 240, 260z, nough said.

overall: best bang for your buck sports car imo...

6spd 06-19-2011 09:35 AM

an achievement

WhiskeyHotel 06-19-2011 09:43 AM

A boyhood dream...come true.

It means continuing with Datsun for 30 years. It means that sports cars can be practical daily drivers for years, not just before you settle down.

I have a different view of driving than a truck driver or econo driver. I want to get past anybody who wants to drive slower than I , and to pull over for anybody who wants to go faster than I. Sort of like the "Golden Rule": do unto others as you would have done unto you. which is a metaphor for my life too.

It means more to me than just this too. Perhaps I'll edit this later.

SPOHN 06-19-2011 10:14 AM

It doesn't give me attitude like the rest of the world. So I'm at peace when I'm in it.

Dzel 06-19-2011 10:28 AM

It's like an achievement. I made sure my family had all they needed and some of their wants before I purchased my Z.

cc370z 06-19-2011 10:44 AM

1st new car..... All the hard work added up to something.

370Zsteve 06-19-2011 10:44 AM

Hmmmm...let's see....I could have bought a Cayman for $40K more, but now I have a car that's just as fast, turns *more* heads, and I have $40,000 to spend on booze, tits and vacations. :yum:

GingaBreadMan 06-19-2011 11:48 AM

First new car and the best car I have ever driven!!!!

Jamaica 06-19-2011 11:52 AM

I like it's phatazz and its aggressiveness.

USMCram 11-28-2011 11:34 AM

It's the culmination of all my 5 years of school and everything I've given for my country.

yaheard 11-28-2011 11:57 AM

It puts things in perspective.

You have to work, and I work to pay for my hobbies. I went through a tough past 2 years personally and job wise and to know that it all helped pay for Jezzabelle makes it that much better every time I see her.

For a first new car at 23, it turned out ok if I say so myself.

6MT 11-28-2011 12:00 PM

My daughter thinks it's my "mid-life crisis". To me it's a toy, nothing more.

thetaste 11-28-2011 12:01 PM

another notch in the headboard.....or....garage door....or whatever...LOL

mantella87 11-28-2011 12:03 PM

My first new car. My Dad had a 370Z so it was an awesome father/son commonality (besides genetics, haha). I've always admired the Z cars. I remember how happy I was to unlock the 350Z Concept Car in Gran Turismo when I was a kid. Little did I know I'd grow up and drive a 370. Also, my car is my girlfriend. :tiphat:

bigsix 11-28-2011 12:08 PM

It will be my reward for focusing on what I wanted and getting it.

Something I'll say is all my own, and that I worked for.

kenchan 11-28-2011 12:41 PM

because i can.

semtex 11-28-2011 01:38 PM

For me, sadly, it represents devasting loss. I absolutely loved my Z. It brought me joy every time I saw/touched/drove it. But in 2010 I lost my job, then my wife divorced me, and I lost everything including my beloved Z. I don't know if I'll ever have the opportunity to own one again. Those of you who know me know I have tons of vids up on YouTube from all my mods (I dyno'd everything and shared it with the forum). I can't even watch my own videos anymore. I get too choked up.

Red__Zed 11-28-2011 01:40 PM

a blast of a backroad cruiser

TheGreatOne 11-28-2011 02:21 PM

Heritage...loved all the Z's

Personally...accomplishment...working harder, making some good decisions to finally get something I've really wanted and thought I couldn't...as a car enthusiast...getting from point A to B in "whatever" doesn't excite me....the Z does it for me

edub370 11-28-2011 02:32 PM

A gift to myself for graduating college and getting the job i had been aiming for for 3 years. right now i dont have a family or kids, and there are very few times in life when you get to be selfish. this is one of them

Da.Menace 11-28-2011 02:36 PM

Satisfaction.

Cristobal09 11-28-2011 02:55 PM

The best bang for the buck

birdmanx1 11-28-2011 03:23 PM

Bundle of elegance, power and exceptional value. It also represents to me the logical step before GTR ;)

PapoZalsa 11-28-2011 03:35 PM

I got it because I had a Datsun B210, 300ZX and 350Z in the past. Is a car that has Heritage and History behind the Z brand starting with Datsun.

I wish some other auto makers like Toyota and Mazda would continue the heritage of like the rotary engine (not that piece of work RX-8), Corolla and Supra, maybe because I'm old school.

And I like some of the Retro style of some new muscle cars...

Hahahaa, some still have some changes left in the pocket to buy MacDonalds for the Monopoly thing.

christian370z 11-28-2011 04:29 PM

Some great points made by everyone, I agree with them all.

To me, the Z represents the not so obvious sports car choice. I believe the Z is always underrate by most people and with a few choice modifications, can hang or exceed many cars that are nearly double its price. It is unique, looks great, responds well to mods and is driver orientated which is exactly what I like in a car.

That said, I do wish it had a bit more practicality.

RoshDawg 11-28-2011 04:46 PM

a raw machine with character

RiCharlie 11-28-2011 06:12 PM

Fun... its totally about the fun of driving on a beautiful day with the windows down and the music playing..or just the sound of the wind and the purr of the engine and the music of the highway..... I cant think of anything more enjoyable!

I hope everyone read my post under What Did You Do With Your Z Today...i really wrote that just for the enjoyment of the group on this site...

USINC97 11-28-2011 06:45 PM

I wanted to drive something that looked good and I would not pass a dozen copies of it when I went down the road.
