Daimler did a pretty good job a few year ago when it partner with Chrysler. So it would be interesting to see what kind of improvement they can bring to the table.

Even that I feel the Z doesn't need too much improvement and is the best bang for the buck.

Daimler didn't do that good. If they did Daimler wouldn't have sold their Chrysler share as soon as they did. An what did we get out of the parternship? The crossfire? Far from win.

Yeah, Daimler took a beating on that venture. They still own a small percentage of Chrysler. Daimler was also responsible for the Pacifica. Nissan, Renault, and Daimler have been sharing powertrain and other technologies for a little over a year now.
