After I installed my varis lip I noticed my 10 mile commute's mpg went from 21 to about 23. I fill up and reset the mpg computer every time. When I drive on the highway I can get 30 mpg +, I got 33 driving 30 miles. I found it interesting the lip reduced drag. A lip isn't a way to save gas.

Not an upgrade but keeping the air filters clean and the tire pressure correct makes a big change. Also driving style as spearfish mentioned has a huge effect. If you keep the multifunction gage on instant mpg and modify how you're driving to get the best rate of fuel burn your mpg goes up more then you might think. I had an XB before and would many times get highway or better mpg during around town driving. The added benefit is you usually are carrying less energy in case of an accident. Good question

The best may to improve MPG is to drive the car like you are breaking in the engine according to owners manual. In other words keep the rpm's down and don't enjoy your purchase. The only times I ever got better than 16 MPG was under these conditions. Sports car fun at a minimum costs fuel. When I fill up my tank and find I am getting less than 12 MPG, actually makes me smile, because I know I got my moneys worth. OP, Good luck with your situation.

Maybe some how you really did reduce CD and that would be good enough explanation for me.
