Yeah he seemed to be making my point for me? Different displacements yet they are all the same S30. The 370z is really a new car which is why it is a Z34 vs Z33 and why I consider it to be a considerably different car that just looks similar to a 350Z.

my Z is considerably shorter than my G35C which is great news...and why i consider the Z33 and Z34 a completely different car (because of the platform change).

i can actually open my tool case drawer in front of the Z with no issue. :D

that Z33 platform was intended for the G35C. :p

Not sure how many of you guys owned a 350 before getting a 370 but I did, and pretty much everything was improved upon. Performance wise it's not that big a difference over the 3.5VHR model cars, but it's better all around. Engine wise it was a nice jump from my 05 Track model (had the 300HP non-VHR motor). The best improvements to me were engine/interior. Only thing i miss from the 350 was being able to see the tire's PSI in realtime from the trip computer... I loved that!

You are correct -- he was making your point.

You know what, that' what I realized what was missing. My 280ZX had that feature, too. :shakes head:

If you want to get technical there are quite a few differences, but as far as the engine goes its very similar with the VQ35HR available in 07-08 350's. The 350Z evolved so much, there was the DE, rev up, then HR, so it all depends on which 350 engine you want to compare it to. I had an 05 DE, and the 370 is SOO much better in every way! Most HR owners will rant about how its not much of an upgrade from they're Z's, which is true in a straight line race, but that's where it ends. Coming from the 350 community, you'll find that most HR owners are not very accepting of the 370. Not to sound like a douche, but next time you talk to a 350 owner, find out which version he drives, and you'll see what I mean.

hopefully he's not a member here, but I met a guy with a supercharged 370 who thought my 370 was a 350....seriously dude?

That being said the majority of people can't even tell the difference from looking at it.

Oh np Waizzz. No offense taken. I am really learning a lot by reading all the posts. But yes, I wasn't looking at which was better... more so the differences. But I can see where some folks might start leaning it towards that issue ;)

But yes, a Z is a Z, and deserves respect amongst (and outside of) the Z community.

Sounds like he did that on purpose to diss and downplay your 370z. Being that he had one, it would be pretty tough to mistake another 370 for a 350. LOL.

Kingbaby 05-04-2011 03:25 PM

Many Z owners after modding there Z, don't check the market/scene or care to. I've been to a couple meets and overheard some ridiculous statements.

that's what i figured until he started talking, and the shop he took his car to told him his sports Z didn't come with an LSD, and only the nismo did...

so he spent 1100 on an LSD..... he wasn't very happy when i informed him otherwise, and the shop never gave him his old LSD...if they even changed anything
