I think the best way to explain it is simply say its really a completely different car that just looks similar. A 350Z is a Z33 and a 370z is a Z34 using the Japanese model numbers. Nissan does not change these numbers just because the displacement change. The car was basically completely re-designed from the ground up.

They definitely drive significantly different (I have significant driving experience on both). Here is a better comparison pick showing my dad's 350Z and my 370Z. Both are stock. He has an enthusiast (regrets he didn't go performance) and I have a base w/sports:

Not exactly. First, the difference between the 240Z and 260Z was an increase in stroke. Then when the 280z came out, it was an increase in bore, but all three were the same cars with only minor trim and appearance differences.

It had been a couple years since I had my 350z, but the day I brought the 370 home, I immediately changed out springs, sways and suspensions, and while the front is slightly modified and improved, this car is just an evolution of the past on the same platform with a new body and interior. It felt like I was right back at home taking it apart.

It's called wikipedia!

I don't have enough time to list all the changes, it's too extensive.

Here are some highlights:

-bigger motor
-Much better interior materials
-No rear-strut tower!
-rev matching on Manual transmission
-Push-button start/keyless entry.

LOL at some of your responses, but then again you're defending your own cars, the same thing happens on my350z whenever someone makes a 370z vs 350z thread. :icon18:

Right -- all of the 240, 260 and 280's were S30 chassis designations and essentially the same car.

Just try to

1) Always shoot in HDR mode
2) Clean the lens or keep fingers away from it
3) Don't shoot at mid-day or directly in the sun.

the best Z ever?

Didn't I see somewhere the 300Z on an all time list?

Anyway, the 370 is at least a better if not best Z

Ya gotta love the handling

I am with Mike, the 370 is a 350 with improvements (lots of it) to it. It is not a new car or new chassis, get over it.

I can see both points of view.

I guess its the Audi R8 and the Lamborghini Gallado story;
  • based on the same platform - True -
  • but are very very different cars. - True Again
