350Z vs 370Z highlights?!?!?!

I have my flame suit on, so please be gentle....

So I was at a car meet the other day, and this guy walks up to me and compliments me on my car yada yada. Then he asks this question, "So can you tell me what changed from the 350z to the 370z?"

I stopped, paused, and said, "Well, obviously the shape, rims...". Then I was confident I could state a lot more obvious ones. "Also there's the SRM", which I then proceeded to explain. "The interior has also been completely redone.", then proceeded to explain that.

That's when there was eery silence.... I was thinking WHAT ELSE?!?!?! I started thinking maybe power/torque output, but I think wasn't the 08 350z and the 09 370z really close in output already? Maybe I should have said a better version of VDC???

So I guess that's my question... so I know how to NOT look dumb the next time someone asks me that.

Can you list out what differences (other than looks/rims, etc) the 370 and 350 have????

Dont know much about the 350, but it had a 3.5 liter engine as compared to our 3.7, hence the name of the cars, right?

I think the latter years 350Z's also had a 3.7 liter right? Just like the G35/G37's?!?!?!

Maybe I'm thinking twin intakes..... hmmmmmmmm

Sibze 05-03-2011 01:48 PM

I don't think any of the 350's had the 3.7

Really its a whole new car... I would more say, whats the same??? Not much

Edit: Not saying anything bad about the 350, just saying its a different car, not better not worse, different

Confirmed via Wikipedia

The 350z never had 3.7 liters. They elevated the engine slightly and had dual intakes.

Correct me if I'm wrong =X

Ok, that officially makes me the dumbest 370z owner around.... sheeeeeeeeeesh. Sad part was I knew that too, and yet didn't say it. Wonderful. I should have said, "They enlarged the engine size to 3.7 liters". Done. Simple.... So then output increased for us too then?

what else?

The body
The engine
The transmission
The synchrorev match
The interior
The suspension

Keep going...

Shorter, wider wheel base. Lighter. 3.7L VQ37VHR with VVEL. Better interior. etc.

That about sums it up right there. The weight was another thing I forgot to mention too then. :( What was 350's weight vs our Z? Anyone know?
