If you drive a Nissan, you're not an American?

You could always just explain how it wasn't your grand scheme to de-industrialize America and he shouldn't complain to you.

Here's some ideas for ongoing shenanigans that will have your neighbor thinking twice about his recent purchase...

1. Next time you mow the lawn, wear a KKK outfit
2. Hang a big pentagram on your front door
3. When you go to get your morning paper, do so in a pair of Speedo's that are 2 sizes too small
4. Wear a turbin with the Speedo's
5. Get a pet crocodile and keep it chained up on the front porch
6. Post up a couple signs on the closest telephone poles explaining of how a half dozen king cobras got loose from your property (don't forget to offer a reward for return)
7. Sneak a big DUB sticker on the back of his GTO

The funny thing is, I get along with most everyone and don't go around looking for confrontations and fights. I didn't feel threatened but it was kindof strange. What I should have told him is that two weeks before he moved in, illegal aliens did the roof on his house and asked him where the money he spends at Wal Mart goes....

That guy sounds really unstable to me. Are you sure you didn't leave anything out? If it did go down exactly how you said then I would have beat his A$$ to a stump for grabbing me like that.

I don't blame you for asking. It sure is strange to me. Nope, it went down like I said. The irony is I am a private person and mind my business and never bother neighbors or have had probles with them. Maybe he is a hardcore union guy. I guess I'll find out. Stay tuened.

Inspector- there's no irony here. you're a private person. i suggest you not approach him and just wave 'hi' when you see him. expect that he will ignore you but dont feel bad. he will see that you're trying to be nice and making effort.

just give the guy time and space. you approached him on a bad day/bad time and you unknowingly said things he didn't want to hear. doesnt matter if he's a hardcore union guy or not. he has is beliefs and values. dont mess with it as it's like religion to them.

This guy sounds like a disgruntled postal worker.

I try not to judge but, having lived in this part of Missouri for 20 years, I have encountered a certain mentality that equates owning "foreign" cars as bad. I introduced myself and told him the previous owners were meticulous in their care of the home. He said, "Of course they were, or we wouldn't have bought it." His tone was a little smart a&$ but I shurgged it off. I told him they put a lot of time in the yard and so forth. He told me of course they did because that is the only kind of home they buy. I tried again. I commented on how nice they and all their new neighbors were. He said I would notice no change with them. I told him I keep to myself, mind my own business, and whatever he did on his property, house, driveway, etc. was none of my business. He stared at me without answering as if he didn't like what I said. I tried one more time. I commented on how nice his 67 GTO was and mentioned I had some old cars I played around with and hoped to get to them one day. He asked which kind? I told him 66 Plymouth Valiant convertible, 68 Barracuda, and a 68 Charger that was maybe more rust than metal. He then grabs me around the neck, I kid you not, and shakes me saying, "Then why are you driving Nissans!" My wife has a Sentra. He asked me again saying I should drive only American cars. So I had had enough. I told him I wasn't buying cars from companies whose unions gave money to elect people hostile to my political interests especially my liberty. He asked what I meant and I told him the 2nd Amendment. He then launches into talking points about no one needing a 35 round "clip." I explained my dad carried an M1 Garand in the Korean War and no one had a 35 round "clip." He then began to pepper me with one question after another asking a new one before I could answer and old one. He then tells me he is from Detroit, is a GM Auto worker, an assembler, and was transferred to Missouri. He told me he was union and a Democrat. He then tells me I am a teacher, (my neighbors told) and how do I feel about that. I told him I am not in the union and wouldn't join one because I don't want labor money going to Democrats or Republicans. He then tells me, "Well, I'm a true blue American. I'm American to the core, I drive American cars, am in the union, and a Democrat." In other words, if you are not like that, you are not an American. He then excused himself and went into his garage. I finished cutting the grass and then backed my red Z out of the garage and washed it, slowly, even though it was clean.

Good luck living with the jerk next door. Imagine his America, where instead of rugged individualism, it is all about joining a group and doing the same thing.

Fixed.

This Ra-ra union mentality is why this country is in the state that it is. Lazy, overpaid rednecks that truly have no real skills. Ask him is he has looked at all of the parts that go into his "American" cars. Major amounts of foreign made parts.

That's right. It is like those who preach tolerance and acceptance as long as you think and act like them.

Without getting into politics, being American means the freedom to choose. Being American does not imply the legal right to lay hands on people if contact is unwanted.

I call BS on the whole thing. If you were being honest about this, this massive chunk of text wouldn't exist in this form that currently strains my eyes.
